Hi ,

I'm new to the forum, not sure if this is the right thread. My apologizes!

I've applied for Spousal sponsorship in Feb 2025. Got my AOR but still haven't gotten biometrics or even sponsor approval. I understand that Sponsor Approval is the first step. I've ordered my GCMS notes, but yet to receive them.

Background: I've a good job/income in Canada, became PR in 2022 via Express entry, married after becoming PR and no criminal history. I didn't submit my only NOA when applying for spousal sponsorship as I submitted the application in February itself. However, I submitted T4 for 2024.

Residency Obligation: Landed in Nov-2022, but left within a week (soft-landing). Got married in 2023 and finally moved to Canada with a job in Nov-2024. I've not completed 730 days in my 5 year period yet. Can I still be a Sponsor? Am I missing anything here?

Am I in Compliance? Any thoughts on the delay in Sponsor Approval?

No issue with this. No idea about the delay.

Thank you @armoured

Just to follow up on this one, Do you think NoA is mandatory for spousal? Should I raise a webform to submit it?

I've submitted other Proof of employment such as reference letter, T4, Pay stubs and Offer letter.

I don't believe so. They can ask you for it. The reason you didn't submit (time of year / no NOA yet) is pretty obvious.

Did you make an ircc tracking account for the sponsor, just to confirm it wasn't marked complete there? I'm not sure if that is possible, but I do know the letter for my spouse came over 2 weeks later than when it was actually completed in the tracker.

Yes. I have the tracker. It does say "in progress" in biometrics and background verification. However, "not started" for eligiblity and medicals.

I strongly believe they are questioning my Sponsor eligiblity as I couldn't find any case in forum with 6 months delay in Sponsor approval.

Thank you for your reply, @brittanyatk13

What is more important is that you gave the savings to care for another person.

That sounds like the PA tracker. Did you make a separate one using the sponsor uci? It would be a separate account just for the sponsor. The sponsor uci would be on the aor
