My parents are in Canada. Today received the final decision update and also a letter to submit 2 photos and passport and mail it to Ottawa with return prepaid post.

Just want to know do i have to mail the photos and photocopy of passports. Isn't there anyway to reveive ecopr.?
If your parents are already in Canada, you should let IRCC know via webform and send them the updated address. Once they process your webform and let the processing agent know, you should receive a P1 followed by P2 email and finally eCOPR in the portal. In the mean time, your parent's may not leave Canada until eCOPR and PR Card is received

Hello everyone.

I submitted parent sponsorship forms on IRCC PR portal on July 30, 2024 and had not yet received any updates (like the file number or anything) yet. about 6 months ago I received an email to resubmit my father's resume (there was a gap) which I submitted in a week. The letter had an application number starting with an X.
I submitted an web-form asking about updates 3 months ago, and there had been no responses to it yet.
today I received another letter (this time with application number starting with an F), asking for biometric fee for my father (recently expired)

I will submit today, but curious what others are experiencing, is it this slow for everyone? what does the timeline usually look like after biometric fee?

They are immigrating from Iran, if it matters. (usually we face longer security checks, but not this slow)

Thanks.

PGP is a long process - current processing times according to IRCC is 36 months. There will be many months of silence from IRCC between the time you hear from them. See here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.html

Use the application number starting with F in the gckey portal to register and track your application. Linking will take some effort - include the number of sponsors in the number of people on the application E.g. if you have a couple sponsoring both parents enter 4. If you have single child sponsoring both parents enter 3 etc.
Keep track of combinations you try and only try up to 4 combinations per day until you are successful or you will be locked out for 24h

Process is explained here: https://sites.google.com/view/pgp2019/flowchart?authuser=0
There is a tracker there as well where you can add your timeline (use 2023 sheet)

My parents were in Canada when passport request letter came. I updated their address in Canada using webform and got email confirming the same. Nothing then after since month and a half. This July 1st my parents went to US to my sisters for 4 months. I have not updated this to IRCC and they are anyhow very slow. What should I do in this case? It seems ppl are getting P1 and P2 emails and then PR card arrives in mail. I believe if I update IRCC now about it, they will further delay. Thoughts?

Contact an immigration attorney! Once you confirmed using Web Form after PPR that they are in Canada, they should not leave until eCOPR and PR card received. Web Form processing takes 3-4 weeks, there after P1, P2, takes weeks-months. People are waiting up to 2 months from P2 to eCOPR.... and then up to a month for PR card. So that could be easily at least 3 months at least before you get your eCOPR (could be sooner some times)

When the processed your Web Form or when the officer received an address update after the web form was processed, they verify with CBSA to confirm if your parents have an arrival record. Before they process this, if they receive information from CBSA that they have already departed - you have gotten your self in a very sticky situation as they will not be able to land them within Canada. If you did not notify them of their departure, that could be regarded misrepresentation - worst case this could lead to the file being closed/refusal

I have said this before as well:

I got pre arrival message on portal on June 3 and nothing after that
what are the next steps after pre arrival letter and how long it can take on every step ? any ideas ?

Pre-arrival letter is just an administrative step. It can be sent at any time. It does not mean PPR is imminent. Current PGP processing time is 36 months - If things happen sooner you are very lucky

Anyone submitted between July 1 and July 10, got Final Decison or PPR ?
One of my friend submitted on July 2nd just got PPR yesterday.

Hello Everyone,

I have submitted my Parents PR application under the sponsorship program. This month I received an email asking for Biometrics and they have also asked to pay RPRF amount balance $5. I already paid all the amount initially while submitting the application, am not sure why it says $5 and when I try to follow the instructions for the RPRF payment it shows $575 to be paid per person. Anyone had this issue before? I try calling them but no body picks up the call saying all the agents are busy. Below is the ask in their email attachment.

> Fingerprints: You are required to submit Biometrics in support of this application. Permanent
residence applicants are required to enrol their biometrics in support of every application (even if the applicant has
valid biometrics enrolled under the temporary resident stream). Please follow the Biometrics instruction letter
previously sent to you. This must be received at this office by: 2025/08/02
> RPRF: You have an outstanding balance on your RPRF for $5. Refer to the CIC Website at
www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp for detailed instructions on how to pay immigration fees. This
must be received at this office by: 2025/08/02

Thanks
