Hello,

I am a Canadian Citizen. I would like for my parents to visit me from India. They would be staying a maximum of 2 months and not really longer than that. So in this case is it still better to opt for super visa or go with the regular visitor visa?
Does super visa really has a better acceptance rate than visitor visa?
On an average, how much does it cost per person for the super visa insurance which is needed during application submission?

The Super Visa generally has a higher approval rate compared to a regular visitor visa, partly because it involves stricter eligibility criteria. One key requirement is mandatory private medical insurance for each parent, valid for at least one year. The cost of this insurance varies—for example, I received quotes of $1,500 for my mother and $2,500 for my father, who has diabetes.
In addition to insurance, there is an immigration processing fee of $200 per applicant for the Super Visa. You also need to meet a specific minimum income threshold, which is based on your family size, to qualify as a sponsor.
By contrast, a regular visitor visa only requires an invitation letter and an application fee, typically around $300–$500, depending on whether biometrics and other services are included. However, it usually grants a stay of up to 6 months at a time, with no guarantee of longer stays.
