Visitor Visa – 3rd Attempt for My Sister-in-Law | Feedback Welcome
Hi everyone,
We just submitted a 3rd visitor visa application for my sister-in-law (Indian citizen) and would love your thoughts.
Application History:
We waited over 2 years before reapplying.
- June 2022: Applied with my in-laws → her visa refused (in-laws approved).
- Sept 2022: Reapplied with medical background (Disclosed that she had meningitis, was fully dependent) → refused again.
- GCMS Notes: Refusals cited “lack of ties” and “weak finances” (LUCKLIY - no mention of medical reasons).
What’s Changed:
Current Application:
- She’s now working full-time (Sales Associate since Aug 2023, ₹35K/month).
- Has ₹619,000 (~CAD $10K) in her account.
- This time, we did not show full sponsorship - positioned her as financially stable and working.
- Visit purpose is clear and focused: to attend the Ganesh Festival (Aug 27, 2025) and reunite with her twin sister (my wife) - we avoided generic tourism reasons.
- Intended stay: ~2 months.
Documents Submitted:
- Applied: June 29, 2025 via new IRCC portal
- Note: No IMM forms or photo upload requested (IS THIS NORMAL?)

My Wife (Host):
- Cover letter (focused on family visit + festival)
- Bank statement (Sept 2023–present, ₹619K)
- 6 months’ pay slips
- 2-month employer leave letter
- Doctor’s note (seizure-free 2+ years)
- RIMI travel insurance ($500K, $0 deductible, 2 months
- 6 months’ bank statement (CAD $21,500)
- 6 months’ pay slips
- Letter of invitation (for Ganesh Festival)
- Birth certificates (proving sibling/twin relationship)
- Mention of our new home purchased in 2024
- Copies of our passports + Canadian citizenship certificates

QUICK UPDATE :
I created a login for the tracker after reading in this forum that tracker is different than the regular IRCC portal login. I see on the top right hand side UPDATED on 13th July but it still says Background check is in progress and Eligibility has not started. Application Date : 29th June, 2025. Any idea what does it mean? I see one of the person Harry he too got update on 13th July for his client and today it is approved. I hope its the same for me too.

Almost similar. Applied for my sister in law’s visa on 29th June. Last Update in the tracker 13th July. Then nothing. Background is in progress and eligibility has not started.
Ghost updated on July 25th, Spousal TRV, Applicant is Pakistani but living in UAE. Applied on June 21st, do we think it's good news?

Final decision is taken and you should get the update in 2-3 days. I guess it should be approved because if not, they directly update the Final Decision -- Rejected.
