IMO you will be wasting your time doing mandamus for a background check that has only been running for approx three months. Mandamus is most effective when processing times have been far exceeded.

Your choice of course.

Seeking mandamus relief may make sense once delays are expressed in years not weeks, with an emphasis on the S in "years". You're free to do whatever you want with your money, but any lawyer who's ready to take it anytime soon, after only a few months of waiting, is a crook.

13 weeks is too early. Allow your security screening some time. As the previous two comments mentioned, Mandamus is useful when delay is in years. I wouldn't recommend mandamus so early.

Lev Abramovich and Erin Roth are both strong choices. Lev is known for being responsive and experienced with mandamus cases, while Erin has an excellent reputation for complex immigration litigation. SSH Law is decent but has more mixed reviews. Between the three, go with either Lev or Erin after a consultation to see who aligns best with your case.
 
Just an update if anyone is in need of a good lawyer. So after much thought and initial consultations with both Erin (Edelmann & co.) And Lev (AT Immigration Law), I went ahead with Erin.
She has been a tremendous help in navigation each and every issue and question related to the case. If anyone wants a recommendation for good lawyer, I'd recommend them to go with Erin Roth. She's a lawyer who cares and will highlight you points you have never ever thought of.

I'll write a detailed update about my case and how it is being handled expertly by Erin. Until then, this reply can be used as endorsement.
