I kind of read somewhere online I believe. Don't have a reference though. But looking at the comments here seems like it may even take longer.

Any update ?
No update I am still waiting for background and probation Nov 2023
I am also waiting for second fingerprint request I know I will get it as my last one expired Dec 2024 and I have not got anything yet. Rest of the sections are complete

The last movement we saw was for Jun/Jul 2023 AOR applicants.

Unfortunately, nothing for Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec 2023 yet. We need to wait more.

Hello all patient peeps out here :)
Here is my brief timeline:
  • Nov 2023 - Application Date
  • Dec 2023 - AOR Date
  • Feb 2024 - Fingerprints Submitted
  • Feb 2024 - Citizenship Test Taken
  • July 2024 - GCMS Notes revealed hat “Criminality Clearance” was passed, and status for “Prohibitions” was still “Not yet started”.
  • Nov 2024 - “Language” and “Physical Presence” status updated to “Completed” on online application tracker
  • March 02, 2025 - GCMS Notes requested (for 2nd time) through ATIP
  • March 07, 2025 - Received fingerprints request for 2nd time
  • April 04, 2025 - Received GCMS Notes applied on March 02, 2025; it revealed that “Criminality Clearance” status changed back to “In Progress” with due date stated as “2025/05/17”; “Prohibitions” status updated to “In Progress” with due date stated as “2025/02/14” (which was already surpassed at that time)
  • April 24, 2025 - Ghost Update on the online application tracker.
  • AS OF JULY 17, 2025 - Background Verification” and “Prohibitions” still is “In Progress” in the online application tracker, rest everything is complete.
What I can conclude from my GCMS notes is that my file is being transferred between officers (or offices) and "Criminality Clearance" is being redone.
I also reached out to MP office for trying to get a status update. Though they were pretty quick with their response, what they did was call up IRCC and were told the same thing that was told to me earlier - that Vancouver office received my fingerprints already in April 2025, my application is non-routine and there is no processing time for it.

Anyone facing similar situation or have any suggestions on what can be done next, besides just waiting? :(

@luckyuser - how do u know that bro ?

We've seen a few mid-2023 applicants get to the finish line (not necessarily in the forum), but it doesn't mean much. Earlier 2023 applicants are still waiting and some late 2023 applicants also got lucky. It's unclear how CSIS works really (and most people waiting from 2023 are stuck with them!), IRCC just wraps up stuff when the security screening are complete.

I truly believe I won't see anything happening until the clock ticks 3 years. If this is not mismanagement, I am not sure what is.

Can you like sue them? This is beyond ridiculous. Beyond acceptable. This should not be happening. You should receive some sort of damages from IRCC and I am not even talking about mandamus. This is wild.

Mandamus IS suing the government.
And you can ask for costs when you do...
