Hi, I am a BDS graduate with 68%, having completed my degree in 2021. Since then, I have worked for 2.5 years as a Health Management Associate in various multinational companies, primarily handling financial management, budgeting, and billing. Now, I wish to pursue a master’s program in a health-related stream in Canada. However, study consultancies are advising me to opt for an MBA, as it offers a more immediate intake. I am concerned, though, that choosing a different stream like an MBA might affect my visa approval chances.”

Please help me if it doesn’t impact visa

What school do you have admissions for any masters program with your grades? That is your issue and then IRCC wondering if you will even be able to pass a program in Canada.

Agree that an MBA from a reputable public school is the better option.

Thank you

You should be aware that getting a job in health management is very difficult in Canada and employment tends to favour having been a health professional who has previously worked in the Canadian healthcare system. If you have been working at multinationals in a health management role would be tough to both justify moving to Canada as a student or immigration in general unless you had a transfer from your employer. There are likely good MBA programs in your home country and you appear to have a good job which is far from guaranteed in Canada. Would only come to Canada if doing a top ranked MBA and likely wouldn’t make financial sense to do this for most people.
