Police Certificate: The principal applicant and their dependant family member (if applicable) must provide police certificates from:

Their current country of residence if they have resided there for 6 months or more, and

The country where they have spent most of their adult life since the age of 18 (if different than current country of residence).

I am residing in Canada for last 2 years do I need to provide certificate from Canada also

Please ensure to include the biographic page of the passport.

AS I HAD ALREADY APPLIDE FOR REFUGEE BEFORE THIS APPLICATION AND MY PASSPORTS ARE ALREADY WITH IRCC OFFICE AND MY PASSPORT WILL EXPIRE IN JAN 2025 AND NOW THEY HAD ASKED FOR VALID PASSPORT FOR MIN 12 MONTHS CAN I GET NEW PASPORT WITH INFORMING

IRCC AND SUMBMIT NEW PASSPORT COPY AND THEN SUBMIT MY NEW PASSPORT TO IRCC ALSO

if some one faced same issue please can they reply what they have done
If you have an approved Refugee application by the IRB - you should apply for a refugee travel document with IRCC in lieu of a passport from your home country

If your refugee claim is pending at the IRB - some countries may not renew your passport inside Canada if you have pending refugee claim (for fear of persecution by home country - especially if you claim political asylum) as they require you to show legal presence in Canada. This is a tricky situation!

You might want to Call IRCC and ask for advice or you could talk to an immigration lawyer

Thanks! But how did you know there is an update on the portal for final decision? I assume that means I’ll need to check the portal regularly for updates
When you login to gckey portal (cic.gc.ca) and click "check full application status" it takes you to next page where it shows last update on the application.
For me it shows there was some update regarding Final decision of the application, but there is no official email for it yet.

I see. So you just login to portal to check on a regular basis. I was thinking I will receive an email about the profile update, and then to check what it is on the portal exactly.

Dear shiremag

Thanks for your update

Hi everyone,
I recently received the sponsor eligibility letter confirming I met the requirements for the PGP application. The letter listed a number of required documents, including:
  1. Updated residential address
  2. Immigration Medical Examination
  3. Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)
  4. Biometrics (if applicable)
  5. Police Certificate
  6. IMM 5546 – Military Service (not applicable)
  7. CV/Resume
All of these (except the medicals) were submitted earlier. We haven’t received medical instructions yet, but my parents actually did their medicals earlier this year before leaving Canada (they had extended their stay at the time, so they had to complete medical exams).

I’ve also been unable to link their application to an IRCC account — I’ve tried every possible combination with no luck. So far, all communication has come through email.
My questions are:
  • Do I need to resubmit the documents via webform even if they were already submitted?
  • Is there a way to successfully link this application to an IRCC online account?
Any help would be appreciated!

The letter says to submit only If it is not not included in your application,

I have this unique problem and not sure if anyone else faced this. I got an email from IRCC to refer to portal and I see passport request for principal applicant only ( my dad) but no such letter for my mom.

So I used VFS service in India to send my dad's passport and they confirmed that a separate letter is needed for dependent passport submission.

I raised a webform to enquire about the letter and I got a response that all documents are uploaded on July 9th and if I do not see them or some of them, I need to raise a technical reasons webform.

Raised a technical webform today and if that leads to nowhere, maybe I simply ask them to email the document. Did anyone hear about such a technical challenge?

Hi, just to clarify—did you receive any emails first (even if it is just a general message), or did you only find out about the Final Decision after checking the portal yourself?

No email. Its just that the last update on application was related to final decision.
I think they are yet to release it officially. I have not received any email regarding official communication regarding final decision. That's why I asked if someone else faced similar situation.

Ok, I used to received emails about Ghost Update, but its weird that Final Decision won't be notified thru email at all!!

Hey guys,

My in laws did their biometrics on july 2nd in Sri Lanka, do IRCC automatically receive it or we suppose to get it and submit it to IRCC ourselves? Thank you

Thank you. Also the police report is taking time to get it, need to submit it next week but will be late, I have to let IRCC know by explaining it on word document and submitting using webform update section? Thanks

Yes, before the deadline you will need to provide proof that you have applied for PCC for the country or countries (e.g. receipts and acknowledgement letters) and screenshots of tracking showing the delay or a letter of explanation stating the average processing time to get an extension

Received passports back with PR stamps.
