Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your thoughts on our spousal sponsorship situation.

I’m the sponsor (PR in Canada), and my husband and I have known each other since high school in 2013. We started dating in 2021 and finally met in person for the first time in May this year when we got married.

We don’t have any pictures from our friendship or dating years. The only photos we have are 6 video call screenshots. We lost most of our chat history from 2021 up to mid-2023 because of phone issues, but we do have messages from mid-2023 to now.

Aside from that, we also have:

Proof of money as gift he gave me on few occasions last year, Our wedding photos from traditional and court wedding

I was waiting for my travel document as a protected person in Canada, and he’s a seafarer who was mostly offshore last year.

Do you think this would still be considered a strong application, even without earlier pictures or full chat history? Has anyone been in a similar situation and got approved?

Thanks so much for your help, im a little anxious and would love to hear how others managed.

Do you mean you went to high school together, at the same time?

You'd have high school records, friends, acquaintances, family contacts. That will help.

If not, it's a quite different situation, i.e. that you only met this year and married on first meeting.

Yes we were in the same class in high school and it was a boarding school

Then document what you can. For the rest, emphasize as much as possible time physically together.

And note, far better not to say that you met for the first time when you got married. Write out a timeline for yourselves so that it's clear.

Hi everyone,

My family's COPR in the tracker shows an expiry date, and I had applied for a TRV also. Now the TRV in the tracker shows the final decision in progress. Should I withdraw the TRV and wait for a PPR for the outland sponsorship application, as I am travelling to India to see my family?

any thoughts or guidance will be much appreciated

No, wait until you get either TRV or PPR first.

hi just got a withdrawal letter from IRCC for TRV application.

This refers to your application for a Canadian Temporary Resident Visa.
Your application has been withdrawn because of one of the reasons listed below:
 you requested to withdraw your file; OR
 your application for permanent residency has been approved, therefore you no longer
need a temporary resident visa; OR
 you are already a permanent resident of Canada and do not need a temporary resident
visa to enter Canada.
If you wish to seek temporary entry to Canada at a future date, it will be necessary for you to
submit a new application and fee and will be required to comply with requirements in effect at
that time.
For more information, please visit www.canada.ca/immigration.
Thank you for your interest in Canada.
Sincerely,
Migration Section

Sounds like they are very close to issuing your PPR. No, I don't know exactly how close.
