Wow our application got recieved since September 2022, principal applicant got pr in April 2025 we the dependents is yet to recieve biometric or medical request.in march 2023 we submitted the required documents but was asked to resubmit in may/june 2023 because the info we submitted differs from what they had with them which we did, do you all think that’s what’s causing delays for us??

You are just experiencing normal processing. The process is very long.

Please, what is typically next after receiving this letter? This is the second time receiving this; And what is the typical timeframe period for passport request?

The pre-arrival letter isn’t a predictor of processing time. It is procedural and can be sent very in processing which confuses people.

Your principal is supposed to have received notification letter of dependants’ file transfer to Accra, otherwise, it may not have started at all. Is the dependent sure he or she filled the forms correctly and included that the dependants will be accompanying to Canada?

We are included in the file, there’s no communication at all, I know this pathway takes long. but something just feels off. it’s been April since the principal applicant got pr.

April is actually not a long time for both dependents of protected people or files from West Africa. That said you are free to order GCMS notes for your piece of mind. Processing is years so it is a long and slow process.

Hello Members,

I would like to clarify one thing. According to all the threads here, it seems the timeline for PR (inside canada) and family members (outside canada) are different. One of the consultant told me that once I received the COPR, the family will also get it. FYI, Applying PR after NOD principle applicant (in canada) and family members (ouside canada). I just would like to clarify this. Thank you.

hello,
My dependents got TRV, and now they are with me in Canada. Are they going to get PR with me once I approved or they have go wait inside Canada for their files processing ? Does anyone heard or know such cases.
Thanks in advance
Hello there, May I ask when did you apply TRV for your family members after submitting PR application and receiving NOD as a protected person in Canada?

Hi everyone,
I’m a protected person here in Canada, and I should be getting my PR confirmation soon, maybe in a month or two. I already included my family (who are in Egypt) in my application.
I got a letter saying my family is included in my PR eligibility, and later I got an email from the Canadian embassy asking for some documents for them.
But after that, I haven’t heard anything—nothing about medical exams, biometrics, or any next steps for them.
If anyone has been through this or knows if I’m missing something, please let me know! I’d really appreciate any advice or info.
