Visitor Visa – 3rd Attempt for My Sister-in-Law | Feedback Welcome

Hi everyone,

We just submitted a 3rd visitor visa application for my sister-in-law (Indian citizen) and would love your thoughts.

Application History:
  • June 2022: Applied with my in-laws → her visa refused (in-laws approved).
  • Sept 2022: Reapplied with medical background (Disclosed that she had meningitis, was fully dependent) → refused again.
  • GCMS Notes: Refusals cited “lack of ties” and “weak finances” (LUCKLIY - no mention of medical reasons).
We waited over 2 years before reapplying.

✅ What’s Changed:
  • She’s now working full-time (Sales Associate since Aug 2023, ₹35K/month).
  • Has ₹619,000 (~CAD $10K) in her account.
  • This time, we did not show full sponsorship - positioned her as financially stable and working.
  • Visit purpose is clear and focused: to attend the Ganesh Festival (Aug 27, 2025) and reunite with her twin sister (my wife) - we avoided generic tourism reasons.
  • Intended stay: ~2 months.
Current Application:
  • Applied: June 29, 2025 via new IRCC portal
  • Note: No IMM forms or photo upload requested (IS THIS NORMAL?)
Documents Submitted:

Sister-in-law:
  1. Cover letter (focused on family visit + festival)
  2. Bank statement (Sept 2023–present, ₹619K)
  3. 6 months’ pay slips
  4. 2-month employer leave letter
  5. Doctor’s note (seizure-free 2+ years)
  6. RIMI travel insurance ($500K, $0 deductible, 2 months
My Wife (Host):
  1. 6 months’ bank statement (CAD $21,500)
  2. 6 months’ pay slips
  3. Letter of invitation (for Ganesh Festival)
  4. Birth certificates (proving sibling/twin relationship)
  5. Mention of our new home purchased in 2024
  6. Copies of our passports + Canadian citizenship certificates
❓Looking For:
  • Honest feedback on her chances this time
  • Similar reapplication success stories
  • Any advice on how IRCC may view this improved situation
Thanks so much in advance!

Hi there!
New in the forum.

Applied for my soon-to-be in-laws (parents and brother) to come to our wedding in September. Fiancé (and all family) is Turkish.

Timeline:
  • Applied: June 27th 2025
  • Biometrics request: June 27th 2025 (I know! :eek:So fast!)
    • Biometrics done (parents): July 4th 2025
    • Biometrics done (brother): September 11th 2023
  • Status all: Processing
Some background:
  • ME: I have been a Canadian PR for 14 years now. I have not applied for citizenship yet for personal reasons.
  • Fiancé: Protected person (his refugee claim was accepted before we met). He is waiting for PR.
  • Parents: They are in their 70's and have never left their city in Turkey. This is the first time they will be getting on a plane.
  • Brother: He applied for tourist visa back on 2023 because of the earthquake, but was refused. He is the youngest brother in the family and the only single one, therefore he is now in charge of his parents and to see them in their elder years. He did went to Germany for tourism during 6 months and went back to his country.
We want the brother to travel with the parents because:
  • Fiancé wants him to be the best man. They were the youngest of 8 so they are extremely close and this would be their last "adventure" before my fiancé becomes a married family man and the brother takes his place as the parents caretaker.
  • Parents are terrified of travelling more than 30 hours (including layovers) all alone and for the first time. o_O
Documents presented:
Apart from all the regular forms, we presented:
  • For us: Letter of invitation explaining it is our wedding, providing our address and our shared bank account statements. We also provided letters from our employer showing that they are aware of our relationship and upcoming marriage and that we both have steady incomes. We also have a company together, so we presented the company's chart as a proof of our solid partnership life.
  • For the parents: To proof ties to their country, we provided their bank account statement (which is really not much), the register of their land/farm, the register of their house, the register of their car and tractor. They also wrote each one a heartfelt letter explaining the only reason they are getting on a plane at 70 is because they have never missed one of their 8 children getting married, and they of course don't want to miss this one. They have zero intentions to stay here.
  • For the brother: We presented a letter from his school stating he is currently enrolled, his security guard license and a letter he wrote explaining that, while during the earthquake he thought of immigrating here, now the reality has change. When my fiancé gets married, as per their traditions, the youngest/single son remains responsible for the parents until their passing and overtakes the family land, farm and house. Which is why his father is preparing him for it. This is not only a responsibility/obligation for him, but a great honor. He expressed that in the letter. I also wrote a letter for him and this letter I took it to a Commissioner for Oaths to be certified. In the letter, I made myself personally responsible for him (me being the PR). I explained the reasons why is important for him to come for the wedding but also why is important for him to go back home with the parents. I promised I will make sure he comes and goes as per CIC indications and that while he is here, I will supply everything he might need.
Where do I see a problem?
  • Since the brother was refused before because he did not demonstrate sufficient ties to his country, I am not sure it has changed enough. Since then, he has enrolled (still enroll) in a school, also obtained a security guard license so he is doing private security, and also became the caretaker of the parents.
  • The family owns land, a house, a farm, animals, etc. This is significant ties for the parents, and we are hoping they will also be for the brother who is expected to take over all this.
  • Fiancé and I met when he already had been accepted as protected person and had already applied for PR. So his PR application is not a sponsorship from myself. However, we wonder if the fact that our relationship is young (8 months together, 6 months as common-law and 2 months engaged) would raise any suspicions from CIC? For reference, fiancé and I met at work. So it was not a tinder or other:p. We know everything went absolutely fast, but we are also sure of every step we are taking.
  • We wanted to present flight roundtrip tickets but is unfortunately extremely expensive (almost 12k), so we cannot purchase them unless we are sure they are approve to come. If they are not, we would be out 12k and no family around.
Any inputs/experiences will be highly appreciated!

Thank you and good luck everyone! ;)
