Passport stamping can take up to 30 days. So you wait. Hopefully get it in time but may need to change dates.

My passport reached IRCC on June 20 and I have a flight on July 10. Anxious about missing the flight

My passport reached IRCC on June 20 and I have a flight on July 10. Anxious about missing the flight

That is very risky for India. People should ensure they have the TRV before booking flights or leave months between when they submit their passport and their flight to ensure they get their TRV and their passport back.

Does mentioning a special event code, having a webform raised by both myself and the event organisers and emailing the local MP of the province in which the event is being held increase my chances? Does IRCC even look at travel dates when making processing time decisions? My application and my subsequent webform(s) both mention the special event code

Not unless it is a life or death situation and still not guaranteed faster processing. Assume it isn’t a funeral of a very close family member which is both time sensitive and unpredictable. I guess you can always ask.

Just waited nothing to worry the processing time for passport stamping is like 20 to 22 days.

I think TRVs they are doing quicker. Stamps for PR are slow

TRV- Visitor Visa Application- (With Special Event Code).

For others, my timeline was:

June 17: PPR
June 18: Passport Submitted
June 20: Passport received and under process at IRCC Delhi at 10:45 AM
June 27: 1st Webform Raised citing urgency- No reply received.
July 1: 2nd Webform raised citing urgency- No reply received.
July 2: Dispatched from IRCC Delhi at 11:06 AM.
July 3-4: Estimated arrival of passport in Chennai.

Without the special event code, it might have taken around one week more. Please plan accordingly and if you are visiting for any event, check with event organiser if they have an IRCC Special Event Code and include it in your visa application and webforms.
