Hi,

I’m a Canadian permanent resident. Back in January 2025, my parents' tourist visa application was rejected. The reason given was that they didn’t provide sufficient proof of ties to India that would ensure their return. At that time, many of my friends also experienced similar rejections for their parents' visitor visas, so I’m not sure what was going on. Interestingly, my parents already hold valid U.S. visas, so the rejection came as a surprise.

I’m now planning to reapply, and I’m wondering whether I should apply for a regular tourist visa again or consider the Super Visa instead. Has anyone had a similar experience or can offer any guidance on what might be the better route?

Hi Experts,

I'm applying for supervisa for my dad. I have two queries regarding Supervisa :
1. Any recommendations for medical insurance ?
2. How to get upfront medical examination done ? Can it be done before submitting the supervisa application ? We're planning to get the medical exam done in Ahmedabad, India.

Thanks in adv.

There is no other route the thing is they don't read the application properly and make the decision. My parents had around $246,000 in the bank and assests and then also they mentioned the same reasoning as you.

But you can try applying for SV. The thing is SV and visitor visa file goes into same pool and officer treats SV and VV files as one.

Hi Dhaval,

To answer your question about upfront medical.

I got it done for my parents from KD Hospital (They are authorized). After the medical exam your parents will get the acknowledgment letter. On that letter IME number will be mentioned and same number will asked when you fill up the SV application forms. You can upload the same medical acknowledgment letter in Additional Documents section.

and for Medical Insurance, me and my husband are with Manulife, we bought from Manulife itself for my parents. You can do your research though.

Hi by any chance did you reapply? if yes did you go via the SV route or via the general visitor visa route?

Thank you so much.
I will schedule an appoint at KD and get the upfront medical done.
Also, manulife/sunlife is a solid option for health insurance.

Thanks again.
