Hi yall,

I wonder if any of you guys fall into my situation? I'm currently a vet assistant Noc 32104 since the start of my PGWP visa, I worked in this position for 2 years already; but, recently, I have read under the employment requirements is that it requires 2 years degree of animal health care. Which I only have is 2 years of Psychology degree. I really love working with animals and would like to stay in a field with animals. But, there is no 2 years degree of animal health care for international student in B.C. So, I wonder, if I start my application for BC PNP, will there be a big trouble? Would you guys suggest if I change my job?

Hello! Did you apply for your BC PNP? I am kind in the same situation, got my VA certificate in Canada (1 year), and I have more than 5 years of experience in my country as a VA and more than 1 year working as a VA in Canada.

Very different situations since you have a degree as a VA not a psychology degree. You should attempt to prove that your degree is equivalent to the 2 yr program in Canada.

Thanks! I hope everything works out for you!

Hi, I came across your post and I’m in a similar situation.

I recently graduated with a two-year diploma in science and I’m currently looking for a full-time position as a veterinary assistant. I noticed you mentioned some concerns about the BC PNP requirements, and I was wondering how your application turned out. Were you able to apply successfully, and did your experience as a vet assistant work out for PR?

I’d really appreciate it if you could share a bit about your experience. Thank you so much!
