Hi, need some guidance.
Application Submitted: June 16, 2024
Eligibility Completed: Aug 01, 2024
Biometrics Completed: Aug 15, 2024
Medical Completed: Oct 01, 2024
Status shows that the background check is being done.
I need guidance/help with the following 2 questions:
1) Can I do anything on my end (for example, reach out to anyone, call etc.) to get an accurate status update or speed up the process?
2) My work permit expires in Aug 2025. Should I apply for an extension?
Appreciate any help that can be provided here.

when your background check change to Completed? basically you only need to wait for P1
If your background check is still in progress, there's not really anything you can do but wait.
You should apply to extend your work permit before it expires. It's likely you will need to apply to extend it, given how long virtual landings are taking; even if you received P1 tomorrow, it would take 2-3 months to get eCoPR, so you might not have it in time for your WP expiry. I have seen 1 month before expiry recommended as the time to apply for an extension.

My application was also submitted on June 24th and Background check just got updated to completed. Do you see any COPR details in the tracker?
I just got P1 at 2.15pm today, i saw the number start from T on my COPR part in the tracker, and expired date too
I replied to my P1 on Thursday (May 8th).
Have not received my P2 email yet. I believe others have gotten them after about a week to 10 days.
Ok.I was bit worried.Dont know wts the trend going on now..its been more than 2 weeks now since I got P1 email.
