Hi all, just wanted to ask some details regarding the in-person oath.
For those who have attended in-person ceremony, do you have to cut your PR card in front of the officer (I need to bring a scissor???) ? Or do you just put the card in the bucket when you enter? Are they gonna check your PR card in detail?

Thank you all!

No, don't bring a "weapon" with you. They'll tell you what to do and have everything needed themselves.

What exactly are you asking? I believe they check the PR card against what they have - you should assume they will, at any rate, and the photo with the person.

My understanding is that you give it to them after that, and they do the 'cutting' / return them to IRCC (you don't get the card, cut-up or otherwise, back).

Don't bring scissors.

They will look at the PR card details to confirm it's you.
