so security is done as part of the background check, not as part of prohibitions?
"Background" is security + criminality. My security is done. My criminality is in progress, waiting on fingerprints. The tracker shows "Background: In progess"

Actually global criminality is part of prohibitions, like foreign arrests, acts against humanity, etc. Background is mostly all domestic security and criminality. that's the key difference. one is global and the other internal. That's why some folks get stuck on prohibitions for a year at times because of where they are originally from and/or lived is difficult to get such info.....

I was referring to internal, which IRCC and GCMS calls “criminality”.

FYI - someone in the WhatsApp group who submitted their fingerprints on feb 7th (I believe that’s the same day you submit yours) had their background check completed yesterday. I suspect yours is coming very soon.
No updates today on the tracker. Do you know their primary VO?

He said it was Vancouver but that could just be the office handling his fingerprints since I believe he is located in Toronto.
It seems a lot of us have been transferred to Vancouver. It seems like they're centralizing citizenship (at least) processing there or something.

I think another theory is also that different offices handle different parts of the application. In our case, Vancouver is handling our fingerprints. Notice, the fingerprint request letter says that your application processing remains at your local office. Sounds like they may be delegating different parts of the application then it all falls back to the main office to bring it all together.

My wife's separate application had no FPR and also got transferred to Vancouver, with BG and test now complete.

We can only speculate about what’s happening here. If you look at the processing timelines, IRCC increased the lead time from 7 to 8 months right at the start of February. I’m still waiting for my test results, and it seems they haven’t even reviewed my application yet. Even if you call IRCC, I’m not sure how much the agents can actually do. They might just offer kind words and encourage you to stay patient while you wait

For sure, this is all speculation, hence my use of the word “theory”.

Is anyone experiencing an issue with the tracker login in the couple of hours? This morning, I was able to log in, but for the past couple of hours, I haven’t been able to log in. There’s no error message, I cleared the cache, but the issue persists.
