Question: for those who did fingerprints in Montreal for the background check, what company/agency do you recommend?

Hello Members,

I am a May 2019 Applicant in Montreal. I got my Oath in 5th Jan 2021 but missed it due to out of country.
I came back May 2021 and send all the documents as proof out of country.
I am still waiting the reschedule date of Oath ceremony. Once i check online status check now all the steps completed but last month it was turned back to in progress BACKGROUND CHECK.
On 19th Jan 2022, background check completed again and old online application status mentioned DECISION MADE again on 20th Jan 2022. I never did fingerprints but according to show the online status information that they again checked background check.
Please give me some information regarding my situation. I am waiting for the last 9 months.
Is anyone in the same situation or waiting for the reschedule date of Oath in Montreal.

Thankingyou in advance for the reply.

Can others give more options in Montreal. Someone asked me and I am not sure what to tell him where to do fingerprints since I didn't do them. I found by googling National Pardon Center and Commissoinaires du Quebec. Are these recommended as well?

How long does it take on average to close the file after the ceremony in the Montreal office, and how long after that to receive the certificate?

Dear friends, I just received the oath invitation email. My seat is # 53. Would someone mind to tell me will I be in the morning part or afternoon? I guess I’m in the middle?

I appreciate any help :) thank you!
How long did take to update your file to completed after the ceremony, and how long after that you received the certificate?

I've used them twice now (National Pardon Center on Rue Peel) very polite and professional I would definitely recommend them

I’m interested in knowing too, I just finished my oath today. In the instructions it says 2-4 weeks to receive, but don’t contact until 6 weeks. And the agent told me 4-6 weeks.

Probably the agent has more up to date information that the instructions, and for Montreal from what I have read here, it will probably be more later than sooner.

As per the Oath PDF

Information about passports
Before applying for a passport or other government services, you will require your citizenship certificate. It
may take up to approximately 2 to 4 weeks to receive your certificate, and additional time will be required
for you to apply for and receive your Canadian passport. You shouldn’t finalize any travel plans until you get
your citizenship certificate and then your passport. For up-to-date passport information, please consult the
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19): Passports and travel documents webpage, as there may be delays.

Steps to take AFTER the video oath ceremony

Immediately AFTER the Zoom session

You will be sent your paper citizenship certificate by regular mail within 2 to 4 weeks ONLY once we have
received your signed Oath or Affirmation of Citizenship form (and the Solemn Declaration form, if applicable).

Once you have received your citizenship certificate
1. Check that the personal information on the front and back of your certificate is accurate; if it contains errors,
contact us immediately. Please wait for us to reply and do not send your certificate to CPC Sydney. Keep
your certificate in a safe place.
2. If there are no errors, destroy your signed Oath or Affirmation of citizenship form. The Oath or Affirmation of
citizenship form is NOT proof of citizenship; the citizenship certificate is evidence that a person is a
Canadian citizen.
3. Visit our website to find out how to apply for a passport or call the Service Canada Passport Call Centre
directly at 1-800-567-6868.
NOTE: If you do not receive your certificate within 6 weeks of the date you submitted your Oath or Affirmation of
Citizenship form, contact us.

The email explains everyhting you need, 10 pages sufficient to guide on the entire ceremony and post ceremony process (the last page os the one we print and sign or sign it digitally PDF signature, even they included how to do in detail ).

Agent might have said as per the timeline. so you can wait up to 6 weeks before you falg your situation.

Hi, just wondering if anyone actually experienced getting an oath invite where the time of the ceremony is stated in EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). Was that supposed to mean EST (Eastern Standard Time) eventually? thanks
