Urgent Processing - Citizenship Application (Lets meet here )

With the number of ppl who applied for UP in this forum - I can safely say that a lot of forum members are going to be in Govt Jobs or would have really lost their current jobs if their UP was not processed... Just wondering if CIC can initiate an audit and see citizens who applied for UP did actually end up accepting the job offer.. if not maybe then take necessary actions for misrepresentation etc...

I am absolutely certain some people have misused the loophole...

if things were normal as before COVID - I am certain that this topic in the forum would have received the least amount of traffic...

But because of the delays in COVID, the number of pages and comments you read in this topic makes you feel disgusted and hope that karma pays back to some of the forum members who have gamed the system to get their applications for UP.... just remember to keep looking over your shoulder for Karma to payback when the time comes...

I agree. IRCC opened the door for taking advantage of the system. They should know what constitutes as really UP. But even then, IRCC should have charged them extra to process their applications urgently, which would have allowed IRCC to hire more people. This was actually in the Conservative party's election plan while Liberal party's plan was bring more refugees and create more crises and overwhelm the system. Afghans' refugees and UP applications are taking from the same resources as ours, which means our applications get pushed back to the end of the queue all the time.

Absolutely - as much as we couldn't help it - obviously politicians have traded their souls long time back and did this out of their greed..... some folks here also saw that as an opportunity to screw the system... I am certain every single forum member whose app has got delayed because of this urgent processig will be bitterly reading this thread here and wondering why this UP was opened....

I emailed my local VO about possibility of getting oath earlier. I received email from my MP that My test , criminality and security have passed and progress in order. And it might take several weeks for me to get oath invite. I’m a October 2020 applicant

I forwarded the same email MP replied To local VO and cited my grandma was sick earlier this year and I hope to take oath sooner. Below Is the response.

I applied for PR card UP back in 8th of September still not received yet only AOR for PR card.

you use the same email they sent you for test invite; that's your local office. usually the email will have 3 letters (IRCC.DNCit[3 letters for city/office location]) to indicate which office is this. For example, KIT for Kitchener NGF for Niagara Falls and so on

I have sent urgent request due to receiving job offer from Canadian employer.
I sent the request 11 days ago. When I call, they say that there no approval or rejection for the urgent request. Does that indicate to anything? Do they have to respond to it?

Just like you are bitter right now because you are unable to qualify for Urgent Processing. There is no loophole here, this is a legitimate avenue offered by IRCC to process Citizenship applications faster. If IRCC approves someone else's UP request, who are you to judge that?

I am certain many tried or are trying to apply for urgent processing, even if they don't qualify, and they know it. Even if IRCC doesn't approve these requests, reviewing them takes from the limited resources. Everyone wishes to get urgent processing, so, many searches for any reason to apply for it, be it a family death or sickness with expired PR cards, job abroad ... etc. I feel sometimes applicants try to find jobs that requires Canadian citizenship only to get approved for urgent processing. IRCC takes more responsibility for opening this door than applicants. IRCC should charge extra fees for every approved request for urgent processing, and create a new dedicated resource for it. With ~400K applications in backlog, and 20K applications a month, there will always be UP applications, which means, we who have been waiting for years, get delayed even more. I am sure no would complain, if UP applications don't affect other applications, as we wouldn't have cared if Afghans crisis takes years if it didn't affect our applications.
