We received your application for a permanent resident card on June 3, 2021.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on September 21, 2021.
We started processing your application on September 21, 2021.

Status: Decision Made

If it was pickup, will they not call me? I tried calling CIC number but unable to talk to anyone

They will call you to pick it up, but some people have been waiting for a year for that call. Better to know for sure.

If I leave Canada without my PR, and if I am not in Canada to pickup, maybe CIC cancel it and I have to reapply. I have to come back to Canada using PR travel document

I don't think you can reapply in this case, and I am not sure if you can apply for a PRTD since you card would valid, but it's not with you because you need to pick it up. It's an added hurdle by IRCC. Do you meet the requirements for your renewal application, and have work history in Canada ... etc?

Eligibility
You can apply for a permanent resident travel document if you:

• are a permanent resident,
• do not have a valid PR card showing your PR status,
• are outside Canada, and
• will return to Canada by airplane, boat, train or bus.

I don't think you can reapply in this case, and I am not sure if you can apply for a PRTD since you card would valid, but it's not with you because you need to pick it up. What is a lead time for PRTD? I am going away for only 2 weeks. I am not sure if that is enough.

Do I have to resubmit my application since nothing is in the system as started?

Is booked flight enough for urgent processing with a letter why I need to leave?

Do you have any suggestions of booking a flight that can be cancelled in case that they don't approve?

Not enough to book a flight. It needs to be urgent leave, like if someone sick or you have a job, .. etc (you need to provide proof for these).

Last time I called CIC, they told me applicant has to pick card themselves, it cannot be picked by others. If PR is mailed then of course it’s fine. But we don’t know if it will be mailed or asked to pickup. Mine is PR renewal. That is why I am waiting on Canada just in case asked to pickup card. If I leave Canada without PR card, I have to apply for PR travel document to come into Canada and also reapply for PR card. This is what the CIC told me when I called them, you can try calling them to recheck but I have not been able to get hold of them, it is hard to connect with them to talk

I also need to travel and I'm thinking about entering in Canada from the US border,
so I'll book a flight to Buffalo and then take a taxi until Niagara Falls and cross the border holding my passport. Any thoughts?

Not necessarily true.

I applied as urgent with reasoning being moving back to non-remote work environment and upcoming flights which would stop me from being able to do so and my application was approved as urgent.

I did apply for PR card renewal on an urgent basis, AOR Oct 06 but I am not able to see an online status yet. Has anyone applied on an urgent basis and been able to see online status? or received the card or got the message that the card has been mailed?

Same with me. Application received 22nd June. AOR on 5th Oct, but unable to see status.

There are a few more people here with the same issue as you and I have. I hope it's just a glitch in the system, and that our renewed PR cards will be issued shortly. However, if my case exceeds the expected processing time (currently 137 days), then I'll need to act. IRCC has given me nothing but headaches.

Last Thursday (October 7), I received a confirmation from IRCC that my PR renewal application had been received. However, when I go to "Check your application status", there is no info regarding my PR renewal. Five days have passed since IRCC's email update and I am wondering if I should do something about this. Has anyone else gone through the same or similar issue?

Hello, I got AOR on the same day and till I cannot see anything when I go to check application status. 3 days ago someone also here told me he/she has same issue. So, you are not alone. Just now I checked and still cannot see anything!! May be officer didn’t update on ECAS. Don’t know what’s the current status of the card. Good luck!!
