With all due respect, a lot of the refugees would be more culturally suited to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar etc. These countries must take in refugees as well, not just western countries like Canada.
These countries gladly take slaves, not people who want to become citizens

So you guys have almost mentioned all that had to be said. Just my final explanation to all those who keep blaming applicants that are eagerly waiting for an all program draw:

Listen dudes: According to the official statement on Canadian Immigration Website, the express entry was not meant to be some sort of lucky draw (or lottery) in a sense that every week on a Tuesday or Wednesday people would pray to God that let us be selected...let us be selected...Those of you who keep repeating " FSW will finally resume blah blah". No buddy, I was not told by their website that I have to create a profile and then sit and wait for an unknown period of time to be selected by an absolute matter of my luck. Instead, I was told that this is a systematic immigration system, in which people with the highest scores would be invited. They did not tell me what is the highest score and I was all ok with that. But something that I can not understand is, why people are being selected with scores 350-400 while many of us are waiting with scores over 460-470-...? Why such a huge paradox?

Is there any single statement on IRCC website that says anything against the famous "we select candidates with highest scores through rounds of invitation"? Please show me and I would shut up for the rest of my life.

But they are inviting the highest scoring candidates in PNP and CEC categories so what is mentioned on the website is not exactly false.

Bro, in step 4, does it ever mention anything about FSW/CEC/PNP? For example, have they clearly mentioned that the express entry profiles are divided into three categories and not all are going to be treated the same by the system?

And honestly, (while I guess it is obvious and I do not need to repeat what has been told by many others already) I have absolutely no issue about CEC/PNP applicants getting their PR. Big congrats to them. After all, all of us are people who are looking to immigrate to Canada, through any channel that fits our profile better. My only issue is that if I have been informed by the website more clearly (on the fact that not all express entry profiles are going to be the same when it comes to invitations issued in this year), I could have made a better decision rather than choosing the Federal Skilled Worker stream throughout 2021.

"Why the hell there was no official communication"
Why did you expect this?
kurwa you misunderstood something, it's not the US, UK or EU to act a bit straightforward and be transparent. still i have the same opinion "canada is a third world in disguise" . But why am i trying to move there? cause i want some peaceful place with less people and i keep moving from one to another. maybe in 5 years i'd move to romania, poland or norway, i ain't sure what's waiting
Finland seems nice and they have a lot of expat due to their nuclear plants.

Hi, everyone. Been a silent lurker here for a little while now - decided to join in for the occasional mix of hopium and hopelessness.
Reading everyone's posts here the past few weeks has sure made me feel a bit less alone in this agonizing wait.

My heart goes out to all of you who are frustrated by the quiet disappearance of FSW draws this year, as well as to those of us who are stuck in limbo post AOR.

Not sure if it's too late for me to pitch my two cents in on the whole situation, but I believe that the reason why we've all been put on indefinite hold is because Canada simply did not have enough vaccines for all of us. They had to reopen the borders first for all the international $tudent$ (after immense pressure from the international education industry), and thus had to secure a vaccine quota for all those arriving in the past few months. They wouldn't have been able to keep their vax rate up if they had to take care of the students plus new unvaxxed immigrants landing all at once.

I think that most of us FSW folk are just now getting around to our first and second shots, which I guess kinda makes sense to resume processing our apps now. Or maybe it's just my wishful thinking/thought processing on IRCC's dark ways.

And here's to renewed hope for all of us!

They didn't which is clever on their part, we cannot claim "invite highest ranked profiles" statement to be false because they are inviting highest ranked profiles under CEC and PNP which is shady of IRCC not that it matters anyway.

Provinces are still inviting FSW candidates from the pool so they cannot stop everyone from creating FSW profiles but they can atleast mention that FSW draws will not happen this year or something like that.

Dude, as far back as July, Canada had a surplus of vaccines to the extent that millions of Moderna vaccines were running at the risk of expiring. Canada even considered donating to other countries in need of shots. We are talking of just around 50k outlanders and they had millions of vaccines to spare. Sorry to say, but the vaccine reason is totally irrelevant here. There’s more at play than the eyes can see

If that is what you think ,I think there is a better argument look at the unemployment rates it is still over 6% ,it was <5% pre pandemic, for a developed nation 6% is bit high.

I guess they will be postponing fsw draws for as long as possible to allow themselves time to process the backlog (FSW, refugee, CEC, etc), which will at the same time allow the EE pool to clear itself, as many apps will expire (and already have expired) and i assume most candidates will have less points if they decide to re-enter due to age and what not. From their perspective, they are not emotionally tied to individual candidates, so they know that if someone leaves the pool, there will be someone to replace them.
If they resume fsw now (or in the next 2-3 months) the backlog will pile up, post-aor itas will again start expiring ( the waiting time will extend), medicals will expire, and so on. Which will again demand extra work from ircc. I am seeing this as a way to break this « vicious cycle » and clear the backlog. Thats the only way they can go back to pre-covid state at ircc, imho.
Also, they needed cec in 2021 to meet their immigration targets. i dont think they will follow the same strategy (inviting CEC) throughout 2022, as it is not a viable strategy.
Now god knows how long they will take to clear that huge backlog. Perhaps, hiring even more at ircc would have helped, but i am not the one to make those decisions
There are not that many backlogs. From a document shared by Jay earlier there were about 50K FSW, and many of them are very close to finalized states...

They just have no incentives to work on them, that's it.

Employment rate is not even a viable reason right now. Ironically, Canada is facing a severe labor shortage, and unemployment rate has fallen closest to pre-pandemic levels currently

Oh, I agree. I understand we've all disregarded the vaccine excuse at this point, but for some reason I just keep coming back to this dumb rationale of "now that FSW peasants are vaxxed in their country, let's start finalizing them so they can come in without our having to use our surplus on them". Many of us could have had our apps processed, landed and gotten vaccinated in Canada earlier on this year (before than in our respective countries) if they hadn't frozen us over.

And @PRANIT01 , I agree with you too. The unemployment rate sounds like a better argument. Tough to convince people that they need more immigrants when unemployment rates are still high.

I guess the only truth we can all agree on is that IRCC's lack of transparency this year has been excruciating.
