Hi everyone

I am in a bizzare situation and hopefully someone can answer me.

I got married in 2018 but my wife came to canada as a permanent resident in 2019.do i neee to consider her in my family size for 2018?

If i consider her then family size is 3 and income requirements becomea an issue for me as i was switching jobs but if i dont consider her then family size will stay 2 and there is no problem.

I would highly appreciate if somebody can give me their input on this situation.
You include your wife starting the year you got married, so 2018.

You need to consider her in your family once you got married.

Not a blizzard situation at all. You were married in 2018 so your family size includes you, your spouse and parents.

Thank you for your reply.

Now further question is she was working in india at that time.if i have to add her to family size can i add her income from india?this will resolve my problem.
Only Canadian income (NOAs) is considered, so no you can’t include her Indian income.

Unfortunately only income from Canadian sources can be included.

was that Indian income added to the 2018 tax calculation in Canada and shows as part of 2018 NOC ?

I dont think so . So the answer is most likely NO

Another spot wasted ? Its a gamble after all

Dont worry spot is not wasted.its just a matter of $200 which i am sure i can resolve.i am good for rest of the years as my family size grew to 5 and i am well within range.
Amazing Interesting

Do you mind telling us how exactly you plan to manage $200 deficit from back in 2018 ?

Hello everyone,
I received the invitation to apply for my parents. I have a quick question to ask. Since I used my own email when I submitted the interest form in 2020. And I am aware that my parents would need to make an account on online portal to fill and submit their application. Do they need to use a different email to sign up or they would use the same email I used in interest form.

Well just to let you know here what i have heard in legal terms.

You are responsible and liable for your spouse or sponsored person for 5 years from the day they entered the country.while there file is under process you are not liable.this might not work in my situation but what lawyer told me that a nice letter with explanation will cover it.although i am not going that way but you can make it work.
It's 3 years for spousal and 20 years for parents.
