Man who called election in the hopes of no longer having to cooperate with opponents says he wants to cooperate with opponents.

That's politics for you. The good thing is after wasting that much money on a selfish call for snap election during a pandemic, JT still got a minority which practically ended his career (unless he wins further games and wins a second snap election with majority). I hope this means he will indeed have to be a "good boy" and not mess up the constitution and immigration laws.

We picked the shittest time to immigrate boys.

no!! my minority

Is it even possible for Cons to win in the current system? They keep winning majority of the votes but it looks like they don't even have a chance to win the number of seats they deserve. Not sure how fair this whole system is.

JT had talked about it you know. Couldn't find the news but some weeks back he talked about the possibility of a second snap election if they can't win majority. Canada needs to adopt some of the US system. Two-term rule and no snap elections.

the number of elites benefitting from trusho govt is more than common citizens i suppose. AFAIK from 99% heated discussions from the forums people said "trudeau hate is motivational"

Canada's Trudeau ekes out narrow win in COVID-dominated election

CALGARY, Alberta, Sept 21 - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau narrowly won re-election on Monday but failed to secure a majority in parliament, after alienating some voters by calling a snap vote two years early during a fourth wave of the pandemic.

Trudeau, 49, took a gamble with his early election call two years ahead of schedule, betting that his handling of the pandemic and Canada's high vaccination rates would deliver him a stronger mandate to rule after the 2019 vote left him with a minority government.

During the 2019 campaign, photos emerged of a younger Trudeau wearing blackface and he was twice censured for ethics violations during his first term in office.

Obama endorsed Trudeau last week, as he did in the 2019 election.

Their friendship contrasts with a sometimes rocky relationship with former U.S. President Donald Trump, who once called Trudeau "Two-faced" after a video emerged that appeared to show Trudeau and other world leaders mocking Trump.

Relations between Trudeau and current President Joe Biden are more harmonious, despite Biden ignoring Canada's objections and revoking a permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline on his first day in office.

there were speculations and ducked up arguments sessions in our previous threads on if covid and lockdowns were a political tool for the next election and it turns out yes, the 1+ year of lockdown was their mission to incline more people to vote for them and who suffered from it?

i stopped discussing politics here in the forum when most folks didn't want to hear it, and I didn't want to make them feel bad about the decisions they took to come to the pool, so waited to see this headline for almost 8 months. Thanks Reuters. being in the pool least gave us all a thread of hope and it was the only one.

So you want to hear the truth? Don't play the race card for that.

Literally everyone knows that it is easier to buy a fake covid-rest result in India than buying bread. People traveled to Canada with those fake test results. Therefore Canada had to ban the entire country. Either Indian government will interfere and stop those criminals from issuing&buying fake documents, or eventually Canada will decide accepting only certain instutions' covid test results from India, and that's going to be costly for the honest majority.
Looks like my prediction came true. Honest people will suffer because of those who sold and bought fake covid test results and thought they were smarter than everyone else.

"WHO-approved vaccinated passengers must undergo an RT-PCR or a rapid PCR test within 18 hours of boarding its flights from the Covid-19 Testing Centre and Lounge at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3. Air Canada requires either of these specific tests as no other test from any other clinic within India will be accepted."

We didn't pick anything, I spent 5 years of preparation and then 5 years just to be lucky enough to get ITA at the end due to high cut off score. Most of it was me being stupid and acting without strategy, but still. And now this bs with FSW-o on hold happens. If I was able to I'd immigrate right after secondary school, but unfortunately my parents aren't rich enough to spend 60k$+ on foreign education.

Of course it's possible for them to win. They have won many times previously under the current system.

In theory, the person who gets the most votes gets to govern a country and that's called democracy. However, even though they have the votes of most Canadians, conservatives are considered lost this election. If this is democracy, screw it!

Tell Queen Elizabeth she can appoint whoever she wants as PM. So that at least the government can use the unnecessary election spendings for something else. There is no democracy in Canada anyway.
