Waiting part of this is the the most hard thing. We all get anxious day by day seeing others who applied later getting faster decisions and us just looking everyday(atleast twice) in our gc key accounts even if we know there is not gonna be anything new. Also these days I just wake up midnight and early to see if there is that "donotreply" mail. I believe many can relate.

I hold my breath every night between 1.25-1.35. But the conspiracy theories keep coming, people are like they are refusing more than approving because passport stamping hasn’t started yet. I don’t want to believe it but everything is just a hunch these days. I hope we all get it and get over with this waiting (read:killing) game.

Even today I had a call with incoming class. I feel less and less inclined to invest so much personal time and efforts when I don’t even have the approval yet. Even though nothing seems wrong in the course or profile etc but IDK. IRCC is sarcastic that way.

I sleep checking my phone sooo much. I literally have stopped genuinely ‘chilling’ even though I have such a great moment in life coming up! My family also complains I am checking the phone too much. My job is killing me already. I wake up involuntarily at 5 am and check phone. What did I do to even deserve this? Applying well in advance, was that a fault??

Agree with you all folks. I personally have a chain of around 15-20 things that are on hold just because of this uncertainty and delay. I tried calling IRCC but when it comes to talk to an agent, now it speaks the "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility..... " thing from GCKey from top to bottom and never transfers to the agent.

On a positive note, from the past 2-3 days, I have succeeded to stop myself from checking the phone too often and I do some exercises instead, I am on my way to regain the 2 lost abs from my 6-packs during the lock-down (not boasting, lol). Goal is to carry on this "tire during the day and sleep well in the night" and one day see the donotreply message in inbox bringing some good news/bad whatever don't care anymore.

Christopher Nolan ought to make a movie on IRCC, I'm sure it'll hit box-office. (Bet they'll even give him a BVL before allowing to shoot).

Hope they buck up fast. My details are in signature. I applied well in April.
Pakistan embassy started working way before the Indian ones so I hope you get some movement asap. If its Sept intake, you still have time.
Goodluck!!

That’s great advice, actually!
My situation only got tricky because I am leaving offers including a full ride top school scholarship offer from the US to go to this program in Canada (long story on WHY this weird choice). And then I get worried because how very cumbersome canadian process is as compared to the US. I do not want to regret it later lol.

US is quick. Like even if they reject its a quick merciful death. Lannister style. They pay their debts right away!
But IRCC Canada. Boy oh boy. They are the Boltons. They FLAY you nice and slow. Rejection or approval.
After approval, they are kinda cute lol

You'll realize that when you're paying $100k+ in fees (whether it's a scholarship or yourself) you don't want to leave the work visa (recovery or return on investment) up to a lottery (H1B)!

Also, that's a 100% question in most interviews for a post MBA job, have that long story cut short into an answer!

For you, use this time to connect with other alumni - you'll notice how helpful they are here vs the US counterparts! Networking the buzz word you'll hear and live for the next 2 years is no easy beast!

Happy to connect you to some Rotman grads if you'd like

Hey. Thanks! This is a great perspective. The uncertainty is the very reason I am leaving the US option even though my own sibling got her MBA in the US and still made it through all that process and is near settling now. Myself? I wasn’t cut out for it.

That’s very kind of you! I’d love to connect with as many alums as possible and develop genuine relationships over the course of time. Can I reach out to you? Do you mind me connecting over Linkedin/e-mail!? Looking forward to!
