There are some troubling news articles that I am reading that indicate that IRCC is no longer looking at any application submitted after May 15th for the Fall 2021 intake , for example : https://www.indiatimes.com/news/india/canada-will-allow-students-those-with-work-visas-from-india-543262.html . Somewhere in the middle of the article it says that Canadian authorities are no longer considering any application submitted after May 15th. Now it could be somewhat of a leap of imagination of the article writer or it could be something we dont know. Problem is, no one knows for sure whether this is true. A lot of us are hoping that even though we submitted our so called "COMPLETED" applications in May/June (which includes BIL + BVL) , we are hoping we will get a decision , if not by Aug 6th then at least by end of August. The article indicates that even hoping for an Aug 2021 decision is futile. Comments please...
Inland applications may be different case, but...

In the IRCC website, there is no clear distinction between inland and outside application. Processing times posted are about the same. The May 15th deadline did not mention anything about being inland or outside. My son applied regular stream on May 23rd, after the May 15th deadline. Got approval last June 18th. Again, cases may be different between inland and outside application. But, imho, IRCC would still process applications submitted after May 15th. Just no assurance, though, if decision can be made before the fall semester starts. Just my opinion.

"Though Canada is no longer processing study permit applications for the fall 2021 semester, international students in Canada who submitted their application by May 15 will receive approval (or otherwise) by August 6." is false in itself. We have seen most of ours review has started - isn't it processing? The author has shared the proof of all but this "no longer processing" thing. Although this is true in a sense but a responsible journo must include a proof of such a weighted statement.

His statement contradicts this on canada.ca processing times checking page "We’ll process complete applications submitted after May 15, 2021, as quickly as possible—but we can’t guarantee that you’ll get a final decision before the fall semester begins. "

I actually applied in april 23 and have not done biometrics due to closure of vacs but my medical got updated as passed on 7th april, no update after that.
Well new update. Yesterday I gave my biometrics(June 21 2021). I just received my bvl(June 22 2021). Guess I would be entering the waiting pool for them to give the decision.

True, responsible journalism - is there even such a thing these days....I normally ignore these kind of "keep-the-content" flowing type of articles put out by agencies/vested businesses, but it troubles me all the same if they had some source of the news (which isnt quoted in the article) which we all forum members dont have despite our collective knowledge and day to day interest in the IRCC process...just saying.

You can't trust any other piece of news other than the one official from ircc. They will process applications submitted after may 15th. My guess is that the applications submitted before 15th will get prioritized to keep the promise so once those are almost done, they should be reviewing and giving decisions for the rest. Also I believe it will depend on the country you submitted file and the no of applicants in the specified visa office.
If the numbers are hight they could be processing complete applications before may 15 else they will be giving decisions regardless of dates. Also from what I observe they definitely is processing applications submitted and completed past may 15.

Well it was an okay one. There was delays in calling the appointments on time and calling in clients to biometric booth was sometimes irregular. but I guess it is largely due to the fact that it being the first day of resuming services.
The staffs were professionals tho. They were trying to mitigate the delays as fast as they can from what I saw. Within a day it should be back in order.

Read it! If the BVL is from CPC Ottawa does that mean your profile is being processed there?
Yep. That should be how it works. Usually sds applicants file are processed in Ottawa or Edmonton.

And NON SDS?
Usually the visa office in their country or the one that is nearby(If you have got none). Sometimes when they have large number of applications to process they distribute some files to process in other visa offices to reduce the caseload.

No no! I’m asking about Indian applicants only. :) I’ll be applying from India under Non SDS and want to know how it works.

It should be processed in India then. I have not seen anyone applied through non-sds mentioning their visa office after bvl. It should be processed in India tho. @rogerdude1 got some insights?
