hello
My wife (canadian citizen) is sponsoring me (italian citizen) under outland spouse class.
We are both active duty military in the respective country and we met while deployed overseas.
We applied feb 2018
Aor1 26 march
Pcc schedule a and medical 3 april
Medical passed
File staying in Mississauga 15 april
Bgc started 26 april

Do you know if me being active duty military might slow down the process or make me inadmissible?
If that was the case wouldn t they already kept us out of the streamlined process?
I never resided in another country for more than 6 months so pcc shouldnt be an issue.

Not an issue at all but you have to include your military file with your application.

I did put a detailed history in my schedule A but I haven’t included any extra documents because it wasn’t in my additional file request for the country.
After I uploaded schedule a they reached back to me asking to upload a new one cause there was a two months gap, so obviously they have gone through it but they haven’t requested anything additional so far.
Do you know if there is anything specified somewhere on ircc website?
Thanks

If you followed the country specific checklist you're good to go ;) I said that you had to include your milary file because I remember when we applied they were asking for it for Thailand.

Thanks, so far I followed what was indicated and the app is going “fast” compared to others, but i got freaked out because I read being military or ex military can delay the apps tremendously, I hope it s just rumors

In your case I don't think it will delay your application at all. Being in Italian army is quite safe ;) since it's a NATO ally and a professional army.

Thanks for the reassurance, we decided to keep my job in the army until being sure i was getting approval just because i can easily release at any time and i didnt want to sit unemployed waiting for it. Hope it s not gonna jeopardize the sponsorship

hello pal how did your case go ? am also serving and i intend to give pr a try..

If you read his posts, he got PR through spousal sponsorship.
Thanks for quick reply am in exactly same situation am receiving my IELTS this week and trying the AIPP, but with long processing times I wouldnt want to be out of work until am pretty sure that the PR has been approved and going by some estimates indicating periods of over 2 years.

Then you do not have the same situation. The OP was sponsored by his spouse who is a Canadian citizen/PR of Canada.

If you are being sponsored by a spouse, you do not need to take ANY IELTS.

Sorry it didn't come out clearly what I meant was that he started the process WHILE still serving thanks for pointing it out.

It doesn't matter.
Family sponsorship and any other economic route (e.g. AIPP) go through VERY different process.

If trying through AIPP, you need a job offer from a designated employer. Not sure if you have one.
