Hey Folks, What is this temporary file number you all talking about ? They received my application in September 2nd week and I have had no communication even confirming this from them. What can we use this temporary file number for - can we use it to extend ones work permit while waiting on this paper application AOR ?
It is a number that is given by phone/email when asking the application status. They usually assign the number to those applications in queue to be processed. You can get it calling IRCC and speaking with an agent. My AR is on September 21 2020, I'll try calling them next month. I sent them a web form a couple of weeks back and they said it is not yet in the system.

i have been try to call them from last 15 days for temp file number...but they dont even connect me to an agent..it says we are getting lots of calls so we are unable to coonect u at this time...you can hang up and try calling us later....this is really frustrating from 7 months people are not getting AOR??? and yet they are setting up immigration targets and bla bla bla!!!
They just focus on express entry profiles for IRCC paper based candidates dont contain any value..the process shows 21 months...they spend most of time in background check as if paper based candidates are all criminals and express entry candidates are all having blue collars

Hi guys! Question: after you sent application, AR is basically the fact that Canada post shows package was delivered to Sydney? Or we will get official email from CIC saying we received documents? I mean stage of AR, not AOR. I’m asking because I sent application last week, shows delivered and now I realized I should have added affidavit to translations! How can I send it now? If I wait for AOR, they will see missing document and just reject it. I want to be proactive and send it now (since I have it, just made stupid mistake). Any suggestions how can I do it? Since I don’t have application number I can’t use webform, right? So my only option left is to mail my affidavit (should I mail original or make copy of original and mail it)? I’m scared this can cause rejection and don’t want to wait for them to tell me when it’s too late... please advise 
Things are super slow. I have sent mine in September and didn't get any postal acknowledgement AR, also I am not able to link my application online because its likely they didn't enter the details in the system yet, so this makes it difficult to communicate about a particular application in the immediate time frame since you can't refer to an application in your electronic query. That aside, I have heard they write back to you if they need further documents considering it as incomplete but I don't know this for sure. May be others can chime in.Hi guys! Thank you for your answer! After reading forums, I got impression that they automatically reject application if it is missing something, without issuing AOR. Am I wrong? If I can send it after AOR, of course it makes more sense since I’ll have application number. But I was thinking mailing it now and asking to attach these documents to the envelope sent before (put tracking number for that envelope)... not sure if it will help, I’m scared to sit and wait...
