Wow. Once again no change to this. So people who do not qualify can still take part in the lottery!

Hahah - this year number will go to 200,000 interested applicants - 1/20 chance of getting selected.

Ohhh noo!! I included the hyphen "-" :(
And now I'm freaking out!
I did the same thing  The instructions say not to fill out the form more than once. I wonder if this will be common and they will overlook? or is it worth submitting it again? In my view it's not really a mistake, just a formatting issue.

The problem with the so called "lottery" is that it is not transparent.

For Lotto draws public can view the draws to ensure it is fair.

This PGP lottery is not transparent.

Email received.

Does the confirmation number indicate, how many applications submitted so far? Or this is random number.

I did the same and was able to open the link on the document number and this is what it lists

No need to freak out :)

Permanent resident card
  • Provide the ID No. / No ID.
  • It has 8 numbers in this order:
    • begins with 4 numbers and a hyphen, and
    • ends in 4 numbers.
I provided the initial two numbers as well, will it have any impact on the application?Although I have added the pr card as well.

You may be correct - but I don't think that CIC would manipulate and give favor to some known people. Yes you can argue on true randomness (mathematically), but that is okay in this case.

They have never explained how the draw is done either.

Computer random selection? name written on paper thrown in box? Drawn by hand?

Ball numbers?

Or........?

geeezz!!! Thank you!
I read it again and again and I also googled it. Lol
It’s not a dash. It clearly says it’s a hyphen so it is not considered as a space.
I’m bit relieved...

I recall that I read somewhere that they use Excel for randomizing and selection. Not sure if this is true.

I am in the same boat - so far my conclusion is that we need to mention only for both parents. Not their dependent children information.
