Your family size would be 5 in total

Thanks @vicwest. Seems they changed the sentence to mention “IMMEDIATE” FAMILY instead so it’s bit confusing. However, based on previous year’s calculation of family unit we do need to add the people we are sponsoring to our family size (parents for sure). Please, check link below.

I am not sure if both of us need to add our In Laws too in EOI form when we cosign each other application.

So double guessing about answer to this question as either 6 or 4.

Can someone please confirm?

Thanks. That's a good observation. Here's my understanding so far:
  • the number of people in your immediate family (you, your spouse or partner and dependent children)
    • sponsor, spouse and children only
  • the total number of people you already sponsored and are still financially responsible for
    • anyone already sponsored (e.g. spouse in last 3 years) or application in process
  • the total number of people you want to sponsor, including their dependants (spouse or partner, and children)
    • parents & dependents for this interest form only (In-laws to be added when both applications are accepted)

is my understanding correct: income will be based on NOA of 2018 2019 2020, so they will have to check my 2020 income only after next year's filing?

Hi Guys,

I am planning on sponsoring my parents, so in total it will be '7' people including myself who I will be responsible for.

7 people$69,935$87,172$85,835

For example: If Sponsorer earned $87K for 2018, 2019 & 2020, can he include Spouse as a Co-signer on the application & the only resource of income for this co-signer is CCB.

Can CCB be considered as a income so that spouse can be considered as a co-signer?

Found this online, about Income calculation rules for a Sponsor

Thanks & I appreciate your response.

CCB is not considered as income and cannot be included. Check line 150 from your return. This is the total that can be included and considered.

No, you cannot. You can submit one expression of interest for your family and your spouse can submit an expression of interest for their parents.

Yes. You'll need to make sure you meet lico for you and your spouse + your parents and dependents + your spouse's parents and dependents.

I have a thought in my mind and wanted to see what fellow forum members opinions are: if my parents get selected for this years draw their application processing will most likely take a year. This would mean I’d have to apply to extend their supervisa status as they’re currently in Canada: Which would mean they would be able to obtain OHIP due to being approved in principle buttt in order to get approved for supervisa extension the govt would want to see insurance coverage for visitors. Most insurance companies don’t issue that coverage if ohip already exists.

What do you guys think

They are going to be eligible for OHIP when they become permanent residents
So you’ll need insurance till then
