Hello everyone, i raised a webform few days back and i got this reply

Furthermore, we verified the information on file and can confirm that:

  • The background verifications are currently valid.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is in process.
I am confused about background verifications, what does it mean, is it eligibility? Do they also refer eligibility to background verifications, and if yes, does it mean passed? Respected seniors please step in, or anybody has any insights.
BGC = Criminality + Security, with criminality happening early in the process, where as security is the last stage and is initiated after your eligibility is passed.

Eligibility is different form BGC.

See for general processing https://bit.ly/3hOFlvh

For BGC / security see https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/the-anatomy-of-a-background-check-in-depth-analysis.500146/

Ask specifically about
1. Eligibility
2. Criminality
3. Security
In your web form.

Your eligibility is passed.

see #3,201
thank you
I did see this on my GCMS notes though:

Eligibility passed. Criminality decision pending.

I wonder if I should be worried about it, because on the first note, it says pcc review required, it then changed to eligibility recommend passed, and then Eligibility passed. Criminality decision pending (this order is according to the dates)

I am slightly concerned about it. I wonder if Criminality decision pending is common for all of us, or if theres something wrong with my police certificates

OP
AOR: April 17th, 2020
GCMS Notes Request: July 13th, 2020
GCMS Notes Received: July 28th, 2020

Eligibility: Passed

Security:

Criminality: In Progress

Medical: Passed

Always go for the First few ones (Note #1) on your notes. As It’s arranged chronologically from the latest to the oldest.

Have you given your biometrics. Many applicants who see this also have their biometrics pending.
