Hey, no worries, I'm the same. Always double-check all the information provided. My lawyer can tell.

Regarding visas check AINP websites "Eligible applicants" (https://www.alberta.ca/ainp-selection-criteria.aspx). The most important thing is you MUST have valid status in Canada (WP) until the end of the assessment, otherwise, you're done. No implied status, nothing etc. But there's an exemption - if you already got your NOI and you applied for Alberta express entry stream then it's OK to be in implied status. This information got my lawyer directly from Alberta government bcs I was running out of my visa so we wanted to be sure if it's okay.
  • a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
  • a LMIA exemption for workers based on one of the following exemptions as determine by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC):
    • international trade agreements
    • workers transferred within a company
    • International Experience Canada
    • Mobilité Francophone
    • an open work permit issued by IRCC to..
  • a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) held by a graduate of an Alberta Advanced Education publicly funded post-secondary institution

Regarding job offers, check the same website (Eligible job offers). We had to update mine to accommodate Alberta's requirements. My YP job offer was just not good enough and outdated.
Hm. So i have to do it right now, while I am still in Canada on the YP visa then. What made your YP offer not valid? Mine doesn't have an end date. But I did start work in September.

Are you going under express entry, or opportunity stream? Because I won't have enough time in alberta in the last 18 to qualify for the opportunity stream. And the thing you linked regards that program it seems

Hi Nicklas,
my YP offer was not thorough enough for immigration. It was just a piece of paper with a salary, position and location. But for immigration, it must all-year-round, job duties, signature from HR and so on.. I didn't have it on mine. It's not a big deal, you just get a new one from your employer and you both sign it.

I applied under the opportunity stream, I didn't have enough CRS for EE (just 363). I got NOI so I re-applied under Alberta express entry stream. You cannot apply for AEES right away, it's a passive stream and you have to be invited through the notification of interest.

That makes it a bit different for us then. I still wonder about the job offer. What makes on valid for express entry. It is weird they they have not detailed that. Because they do say it increases the chance to be picked. Which would be nice

Here's more about job offers, it's in the link I sent you:
Eligible job offers
For all applicants, including Post-Graduation Work Permit holders, at the time your application is postmarked and at the time the AINP assesses your application for nomination, you must have a bona fide full-time job offer or employment contract from an Alberta employer to work in your current occupation in Alberta.

Your Alberta employer must be incorporated or registered by or under an act of the legislature of a province, territory, or the Parliament of Canada and operating as a business that has an established production capability, plant or place of business in Alberta.

Your job offer or employment contract must be signed by you and your Alberta employer and must offer:

  • continuous, paid work
  • full-time work, defined as a minimum of 30 hours/week
  • employment for 12 months or more
  • work in your current occupation
  • wages and benefits that meet provincial minimum wage and:
  • work for an eligible AINP occupation for which you have a work permit that meets AINP work permit requirements
You must meet the terms agreed to in your job offer or employment contract at the time of application and assessment.

The tricky question there is lmia exempt. I mean if I get a nomination, then I would have enough points that I wouldn't need an lmia to get PR, which means I would work under that contract. But seeing as they talk about an lmia. Maybe it is necessary. That is unclear. I don't really know how to get an answer for that either

The only tricky part is to get nominated before expiring your current visa (AOS) or get NOI before expiring of your visa (AEES - then just wait for a nomination and apply for bridging WP). You don't need to get an LMIA but it's better. You can get a recognized organization visa and you're still good. Seems you got stuck with the LMIA part, but it's not that important. I'm finishing my YP visa (4 weeks left) and I got my nomination. But to be safe I hired a reliable lawyer.

That's true. So seeing as I already work here, I should be fine then. Still have until end of September. So chances are pretty decent to get invited.

Does your new contract have an end date? Or just the start? Guess I will have to talk to hr about giving me an offer with the job duties included. As my contract doesn't have that

Hello everyone,
Thank you for all the useful information you share here. Please I want to know if NOC 4011 has higher chances of getting NOI from Alberta than 1241.
I have a connection (sibling) in Alberta and I created my EE profile since Nov 2019. My primary noc is 4011 (current job), however, I intend changing it to 1241 which is the job I had previously within the last 10 years. Is this a good decision? Please, your advise will be highly appreciated.

Doesn't have any end date, pls it's an all-year-round job offer, that means you have a job secured even after your immigration. A job offer should include a location, duties, salary, benefits, NOC, your full name and address, company full name and address, who signed it for your company, contact, must be on a letterhead paper.. More details you can find on AINP websites. If you're in Jasper then people from government building are also helpful with immigration. I think they give consultations for free?

Interesting discussion @wjillm and @NiclasB.

Situation is similar for me. So thought worth weighing in to support your positions. The definition of a valid job offer under Express Entry (to get CRS points) and Eligible Job Offer under AINP express entry stream are different. I’m on FWP that is LMIA exempt, for different reasons to you both. My new job offer is an extension with the same employer that would be under a new LMIA exemption. It meets all the requirements for AINP (and must have been happy with this too as I got nomination earlier this week ... I also wrote AINP a letter of explanation). But because I’ve not yet been in my current post for 12 months, it doesn’t give extra CRS points.

You have to be careful that the job offer letter provides ALL the necessary information that AINP require (let me know if you need this confirmed). And they reached out to my employer to confirm, though only my current employment. Then I completed EE profile to say that I had a job offer in Alberta (because I do ... the question does not specify it has to be valid for Express Entry as the subsequent questions work that out). Completing the subsequent questions correctly means you don’t end up with the extra CRS points. But it might be enough for the AINP algorithm to identify you for a NOI through express entry (esp if have NOC in demand +/- other connections). It was for me!

I plan to mention in LoE as part of my e-APR once get ITA, hopefully on Wed. It’s not like I claimed anything that would change my CRS score or eligibility, and pretty sure read posts a while back that also suggested this was fine.

So it’s definitely worth a shot!

Difficult to say for certain. Suggest search the forums too so can see what others say. But in principle think that’s fine. Provided you can evidence your work experience under that NOC (with employer reference letter that meets the requirements). You would need to put your current NOC in work history section.

And importantly it would have to appear to make sense between the two ... to explain why lecturer/professor would want to move to administrative assistant role, especially if you’ve not been in this roll for many years. Else run the risk that at provincial or federal level they conclude you were trying to mislead them. There are strict penalties including a 5 year ban. So you’d need to have a good explanation and include a letter of explanation.

NOC 4011 is also in high demand according to Alis website. But I don’t know how easy it would be to get a Canadian job under this code.

Hi,Can someone let me know there are quite a few provinces ,can we apply to all of them at once.I have just created my Express entry profile .How do you know when the provinces open.Apart from Alberta which other province can i apply without a job offer or relatives .CRS is quite low 335.
This might be helpful: http://askkubeir.com/pnp-programs/

Then you have to research each one. I only know in detail about AINP and EE, I’m afraid. But there’s lots of good forums for the others.

You can apply to as many or as few provinces and territories as you’d like. This does not affect the likelihood of you hearing from one of the programs. Some you apply direct and some you hear through EE profile. But you are only allowed to accept one nomination.

Thanks for your response. I just wanted to increase my chances of receiving provincial nomination. SINP too has not drawn 4011 for sometime now. I guess I'd just sit tight with 4011 and pray for a favourable nomination.
Thank you once again. I appreciate.

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this PNP and AINP process, and was wondering if someone can clarify few things to me.
My NOC is 2282 - User Support Technician, CRS 461 and my sister is Canadian citizen who living in Alberta past 5 years.
What are my chances to get EOI? have they been inviting people from this NOC past few months/years?
In order to be eligible to get EOI, I just need to select Alberta in my EE profile and that should be it?
