I see that our timelines have been same submitted online on Oct 17. I applied for my wife and kids. I already have a visit visa approved in 2017 which I had enclosed along with their application.Ok ... Mine is also from Ottawa ... Got my correspondence letter on 23rd October ...
Its easier and far quicker to get an approval for visit visa if you have enclosed your US visa and return tickets to the US as the visa officer can establish the intent of the applicant is purely for tourism or family visit and the applicant will return to his home country at the end of the trip.
Though it is not mandatory that you book your return tickets for applying Canada visit visa.
Anyways best of luck and you will receive the approval soon!!

Ok I'm my case , my husband is the primary applicant, he's going on a short official visit and my child and myself are going along with him ...I see that our timelines have been same submitted online on Oct 17.
