Lol! Just ignore these misconceptions. If you can convince CIC,
simply say "due to the family commitments and your parents, you cannot accompany your wife with you at the moment! However, Once you get settled in Canada, then you will be looking forward to sponsring your spouse later!"

I don't find it that complex. Although, this process will take 8-12 months in total. In that case you're supposed to invite her after a period of 6 months to 1 year, in order to avoid any questionings!!
You are at 444 you should do the same thing .

Exactly. I was thinking that too when I didn't want to put his name because it lowered my score 2 months ago. So i called cic and confirmed this question.. answer was its my choice if i want to sponser my spouse or not. Of course, need to mention person is married. They said only it will take another 12 months approx for your spouse , which we all know. Mine is Inland. Both of us are here on work permits. Hope this helps. I made it with IELTS even without his ECAs. Thanks to God

Exactly! Its one's choice whether he wants to accompany the spouse or not? Not a big deal. Apparently, one has to mention his martial status while submitting the profile to CIC. Its just that simple. I don't understand why few people here try to make the things complex for others!!

So @mamuso , go solo if you feel it doesn't work anymore, and sponser your spouse once you get settled there!

Guys, I seriously wish that CIC restricts new applicants from entering the pool and simultaneously clear the pool by giving ITA’s as they normally do.

This way, by the end of the year all the applicants with score 400 and above will be picked up and then Liberals can handover the system to Conservatives.

Btw, I also heard somewhere “If wishes were true then beggars would ride”.

Anyways let’s hope for the best.

Exactly! I feel its no big deal and no one is manipulating anyone here, but as @SeniorStakes brother feels, it is not desired, so I was confused.
He is saying it because of the hassle, both husband and wife, have to go through, due to the long distance relationship. Which is not always considered in married life.

Oh that was quick, isn't it supposed to take 6 months until PPR?
It depends. If you have all documents ready no travel history and ya it also depends on under which category you submit your Profile? CEC works faster because they are inland and OUtland takes bit longer. One of my friend inland got PPR In 37 days.

There are many people who do that, its normal. Only problem is timeline for getting sponsorship done for spouse. Min timeline is 10-12 months, max being 16-17 months. But during this period your spouse can stay on visit visa extendable up to a year. Considering the hassle in process and overhead of additional time, consider all options before you take this route.

In my case I have decided to wait out for 2 draws at the least, see the trends and then take this dreaded route. Check spousal sponsorship thread for more detailed responses from people who are in the process currently.
Thanks heaps for the advice. Am also looking forward few draws and go for it

Currently at 443 with spouse accompanying

She sat the IELTS again and we hope to improve our score. Expecting results by mi
She is struggling with the IELTS. If she gets 7 each we could reach to 453. Working hard towards it. May be in couple more attempts we might reach there...

All in all, this is little unfair of CIC to do draws in an uneven manner.

In 2019 so far, five months have elapsed and more than 35 percent of the total ITAs so far were issued in January itself.

It seems weird that:
  • Jan - 35 percent
  • Feb, Mar, April and May - 65 percent
Conducting draws in an uneven manner is not the most optimum strategy. They should have done their Math right in the beginning of 2019 on 1 Jan.

I think they will definitely increase their draw size based on below analysis:
  • Pending ITAs = 1.2 (Buffer based on extrapolation from last year) * 81400 - 31750 = 65930
  • Pending fortnights = 16.42
  • Expected ITAs per draw going forward = 4,000
With 4000 ITAs, steady-state cut-off should be 447.

Thus, folks at or above 447 should be hopeful. However, there will be some backlog in the beginning because of what happened yesterday leading to a three week draw.
Exactly! If you remember, I had made a similar math in Feb-Mar.
I think, CIC love to be unpredictable. This situation surely benefit immigration agents as well as language testing organizations. So this might be a reason of many.

The cut-off would come in early 440s, 442-443, if CIC wishes to acheive it's target. You see, there is a clear relation between 440+ and 450+ candidates. 450+ candidates have increased, but at the same time 440+ candidates have decreased as compared to 2018. They are only 5300, 441-450, in 7 fortnights.
