My very close friend had some issue, when him and hie wife wen to received there landing, They landing was delayed. He had a child with his wife and he just found out and went for DNA to be sure and when he found out he his the biological father he sent letter to Immigration with a copy of the DNA and the dependent form, but immigration didn't acknowledge the letter and after a month and they had to sent him approval in principle and after 3 week they sent landing and still didn't acknowledge the dependent child form sent to them. So on the day on landing, he had to present them a copy of the document he sent them and they had to delay his landing, while the office told them they had to do more review on his file. After few mins they called them for interview same morning. and they did well. but the office that interview them was saying why didn't they had the child and why is it now. all kind of question. Can some please advise on this situation .

if the sponsor is not a Canadian citizen.......when the child was born did they include the newborn in the application as accompanying or non-accompanying dependent......before landing dependent child must be declared.

The wife is a Canadian. He has 2 child and he include one of the child as non- accompanying because he his sure of the first child but the second one he his not that is why he wen for DNA, So when the DNA test came out and he know he own the second child too he had to write a letter to them and send them dependent form and the DNA result. But it they didn't acknowledge all the document when sent to CIC. and after 2 month they sent landing for my friend. So when he get to the landing office he only saw the name of the first child on the landing as non- accompanying which the second child name is not there nor on there system. So he brought it to there notice that he has sent in additional information over 2 month ago for another dependent. The officer told him they will delay his landing because they need further review on the file, and after few mins they had to call them for interview same day. Do you know or have idea how long this might take or what might happen to there application.

so the principal applicant has not landed as PR.....if that's correct....then IRCC will need to process the newborn and add the newborn as a dependent

The principal applicant is citizen. He his only sponsoring his partner and the kids are non- accompanying just to add them on his application.

Clarify. These are children from a previous relationship?

The principal applicant is the foreign national being sponsored, not the Canadian citizen/PR sponsor.

Any idea how long it will take IRCC to process and add the new dependent.

Expect several months. If they haven't already done it, the child will need a medical.

And it state the office might contact him for interview or to seek additional information or clarification. Can someone here tell what he should expect and how long do anyone thing this might take. My friend check status of his application on CIC and they said they have sent him a correspondence since April 8th but he said he hasn'tt gotten any email. Can you advise why there is delay or what he might expect or what to do.
