Hi,

I wanted to share my timeline because I'm a bit worried at how long it's taking for my file to be processed.

Application was sent (through the OINP portal): January 17, 2019
AOR received (I'm assuming this is the email they send you confirming your application was received and the file number: January 18, 2019

Fast forward till today March 14, 2019 and there have been no updates. The site is down at the moment but the last time I checked (March 4), my application only said "Submitted"

Is this normal? Should I be expecting something soon or is the next step not going to happen until later?

I would appreciate your help on this as I'm a bit concerned since my work permit will be expiring in Feb 2020.

Thanks!

Yes. The site is still down at this moment. I can't get past through the Last Name, First Name and Email confirmation page. The page says "Sorry, we could not find a match for the information you provided. Please contact ontarionominee@ontario.ca for assistance."

I submitted my OINP applicaton March 8th though and last time I checked (March 14), the status said "Submitted"

I wonder how long it will take for the status to change to "Assessment"

I asked this under another forum and someone said that it'll take between 60-90 days.

It's already been 2 months for me so I'll wait one more month and see.

Yeah, I guess that's the typical timeframe, but I've read some posts that their application was approved in a month.

Good luck with your application!

Hi Preet,

I applied OINP with International Students with job offer Stream.
Applied for nomination on October 18th 2018
Received nomination on November 27th 2018 by mail.
Applied for Federal PR on January 10th ,2019 by mail ( paper-based).
Currently waiting for next steps..

Can you share your timeline with me as well?
Thank you!

Hi Dylan,

Thanks for your detailed post. I also wanted to ask you something as you have the same case as mine and as you have experienced the process I would appreciate your help.

I am an Ontario College graduate and want to apply in International Students with job offer Stream.Where I work currently the company is not eligible for as per the requirements of the stream like the minimum number of employees required and gross annual income.

Since you also applied in the same category can you please tell that what was your post in the company and what level of company it was like a very big national employer or privately owned business and how was your experience convincing the employer to support you and where there any things in the employer form which made them uncomfortable.

I am asking this as I am looking for a new job and with the above information it would be very helpful for me as I would know that which type of job should I go for and how should I talk to the employer about it

Seeking Your Response

Thank You

I also applied for International Student with Job Offer. I currently work at a company that is eligible. All I did was talk to our HR Manager and asked her that I would like to apply for OINP and I need the Employer Form to be completed by them. They completed the Employer Form without any
questions.

No Experience required. Only Job offer with the appropriate wages according to your NOC.

Hello TJ,

I can see in your timeline that you were nominated on January 2018. What is your status now? Are you PR already?

Thanks!

i have a situation guys i would like to share with you, when i was student 2 years ago i got a part time as a steward at restaurant, after one month i got promoted to part-time Cook, Because i was studying in the same field, after getting a full time status on PGWP i worked for one year as a full time in order to be eligible for express entry then i came to know my CRS points were not enough i told my employer to help me, we started OINP international student with job offer, he gave me every thing like EMPLOYER FORM, T4 and he also gave me Contract which i signed as a Steward. he said he cannot change the contract he would give me a letter stating that he was internally promoted to cook and ever since he is working as a cook. would it work? or would it be a problem if i continue with that? he also gave me job offer as per it required for the stream. kindly shed some light! thanks

Your application has been assessed so quick? Wow, congratz! Now, I'm really worried about the holdup with mine. It's been over 2 months and no change...

Hello Rennie,

Thank you! Are there any updates in your application now?

i have a question guys, what to say in first question in OINP "Have you visited in canada in last ten years" I came here as a student three years ago. should i tick on Yes and give the reason as Study or should it be no? kindly reply

Hello Rennie,

Yes,
I finally heard back on the 2nd of April. They've looked at my file and they sent an email yesterday to my HR contact requesting some information about the company.

I was a bit worried that my employer would not want to provide the documents but they are helping me with it :)

That's great! :)

I just checked mine today and the status has changed to "Decision in Progress". Crossing fingers now!
