I'm at 441. If I get nomination in HCP from Ontario, should I take it? Or should I wait for the score to go down by April or May??
@abhishek_89 , @SithLord , and others- what is your opinion??

Looking at your score, you should definitely opt in HCP from Ontario. It's better to have something in your hand rather than waiting, waiting & waiting...

I think you should take it. Things may not be the same so its best to take up the NOI if OINP issues one and if you get a direct ITA meanwhile, just dont accept the nomination and go with ITA.

In my case, I'm at 440 and even if I get an NOI from OINP, I'm not eligible. My spouse do not have one year experience in the last five years and thus do not qualify for the OINP HCP stream; However, we quality under the Federal scheme of three years experience in the last ten years.

I don't know when Ontario is sending NOIs but Alberta sent out bunch of NOIs on Feb 23 and I was helping out 2 folks from Edmonton with their profile, just got to know that they got the ITAs this week too :D:D

Feels good to have contributed to their dreams in some way :D:D

@SithLord - how does the NOI work? If I get NOI from Ontario, and I accept it, I immediately get 600 points? Then I need to send my application to OINP?

No, its not that simple as you think. Post the submission of your documents right after getting the NOI, your profile will be processed (it generally takes 2-4 months). If everything is fine and your application meets with the OINP requirements, you will be awarded with 600 points and after that you will get an ITA for the FSW or CEC draw. What will happen after that, you know already!

You don't immediately get 600 points. Once you accept Ontario NOI, they will ask you to send all the necessary documents for verification. This verification process could take anywhere between 1-3 months. In some cases you might even receive a verification call(interview) where you have to explain certain things to the officer. Once the officer feels everything is good with your application he sends you a nomination and when you accept it, your CRS points immediately jumps 600 points further.

The people I was helping from Edmonton, they actually went in for an interview the very next week after accepting NOI. So I suppose, the processing procedure differs province to province.
