They dont need Doctors and Engineers, especially the ones who donot have Canadian/British education. They need IT professional and that's all. Canada isn't very high on manufacturing and with low oil prices (which is bound to stay) there cannot be more jobs.
I think Canada needs all the manpower that it can get.
I read somewhere that Canada has an aging population so probably one just needs patience to find the right job for them

interesting question but i think even though those ppl are struggling now, they still did their research before hand. I find it hard to believe ppl will pack up all their belongings, go through this entire process and not think once about how they plan to make a living. It's just that maybe the right job opportunity has not come their way. I for one am grabing any job i get as well. Being in a different country unemployed is not easy and Canada is an expensive country to me so i wont want to be unemployed to long. Also, i spoke to a taxi driver the last time i went and he choose to drive a taxi cause he said he made enough money to support him and his family, it offers great flexi time so he get to be with them whenever he want. So ppl choose different jobs for different reasons under different circumstances :)

you know what i found as well, some ppl claim to be struggling so it will deter others from following suit. We have a lot of ppl with that mentality here in trini who dont want to -help each other do better in life. Its sad but its reality.
True.

Maybe you are optimistic but I would rather believe the Canadians working in Europe and elsewhere whom I have met. They clearly mentioned the facts and figures and they are quite right.

It's better to be optimistic AND realistic going into this if you really want to migrate (rather than beat yourself up for not having that job with the high salary). It's good that you have insight to what is currently happening in Canada so that when you really do come to Canada for good, you know what your expectations will be.

Indeed!!

Last year in August and November, They did back to back draw with a 1-week gap. I guess the only way people stuck in 431-439 stand a chance is similar draw pattern.

yup, the ones who are wondering whether it is tough to get a job there - the answer is a big fat, yes. The question is what are you willing to do to change that? What do you think you can do to have a better life there? Are you going to keep your attitude at home about the kind of job you can do and can't, or is it going to be a haughty approach to the situation?

I don't like a back to back draw.
Last time that a back to back draw happened, a 3 week gap followed which effectively raised the cut-off to 451.
I wish for a stable bi-weekly draws from here on out.

The problem with stable bi-weekly draws is that CRS won't come down in 431-439 range. There is too much rush at the moment. :|

It will.
I'd rather it be THIS slow to get to 431-439 rather than have the cut-off shoot up to 451 again. Everyone here will just die.
i think they gonna have 3 weeks gap whenever they want anyways so might as well throw in the bi weekly to clear out ppl faster. Even if it shoots up to 451, it will come down faster with the back to back rather than the slow and steady bi weekly
