The jurisprudence exam is one of the requirements for registration. CNO asks everyone to take it after they have applied for registration. It's standard for everyone, regardless of whether you have met the education requirement. So being asked to take it doesn't mean anything--it doesn't mean you have met the education requirement. It doesn't mean they will eventually consider you to have met the education requirement. So applicants take it at their own risk--in the sense that they pay the fee to take the exam which will mean nothing if they don't end up meeting the education requirement. I did take the exam while I was waiting to do IENCAP, because at the time it was only $50 and I didn't want anything to hold me up if/when I passed IENCAP. But for those that don't pass IENCAP it becomes a bit of a waste, although, not that expensive compared to other exams.

One more thing how long CNO will take to send me letter. and in that report everything will be mention ? like i meet the education requirements or do i need to write any exam or need to go back to school or any thing.

The letter will tell you what you need to do. It used to take 8 weeks after NNAS sends your information in to CNO and you pay your CNO application fee. However, it could take much longer--CNO doesn't even barely answer their phone anymore. They don't have enough staff and they don't care about Internationally Educated Nurses. So there's no way of knowing how long it will take to get direction on the next steps you should take.

No, likely not. Did they send you anything else? Namely, a list of requirements that have been met and have not been met? Have you received a letter that says you meet the education requirement? Or a letter that says you do not meet the education requirement? This is the piece of information that you need to know at this point.

Jurisprudence can be completed by anyone who has applied to CNO, at any time once their application has been recieved. It is the cheapest step out of all of it, and many do it to get it out of the way. It's done online and is an open-book exam.

But today she got her NNAS report with ETP score of 27.02 % she had studied 3 year course Registered Nurse & Midwife , in delhi. She have 10 years of experience in Emergency Operation theater. Result not comparable after providing all documents. for RN and LPN both results is same.

Please some one advise what can be the next step........... please need guidance.

Hi, thanks for replying. The problem is we have high exception to get positive reports from NNAS. but its resulted as non comparable.
My wife have a govt job in india and we are planing to move to canada to settle and she can work as RN in canada. but now all looks difficult.

Read lots of forum, where CNO will ask lots of things, lots exam, etc. no proper format. We got report yesterday CNO part will take 3-4 days to start the process.

All plan got shattered. not sure what will happen next.

I can imagine your disappointment. I have my RN degree, A bsc in nursing education, a MSc in advanced nursing practice and more than 15 years experience, yet I got non-comparable. However I never expected to receive a comparable report based on what I have read in different forums. So you are no alone in this.

Also, I don't believe your plans are 'shattered '. It may take a while for your wife to attain RN status in Canada but it's doable. In the meanwhile there are many transferable skills jobs that she can do which don't require a license, e.g a Personal Support Worker (PSW) a Beneficiary Attendant (PAB) among others. So be hopeful.
I know of a foreign nurse who makes $28. and HR as a PSW in Toronto. Still very decent pay for a comfortable lifestyle until receiving licensure.

thank you for your reply- i have a query

1. IENCAP, this exam she needs to give in India or canada.
2. As per Indian standard patent care and all the stuff is different. So they give any support to prepare for this exam - IENCAP or any body in toronto who does that.

I have applied CNO paid 169 CAD.

Not sure where our life is takings us., but thanks for helping and placing light on this.

Oh , thank you so much for your reply, this is a new direction where i have not though of this. To work as PSW and PAB. is she required any degree extra. please advise how she can get job. sorry to ask you like this. Small dot of light can make big difference.
