I did WES for self sometime in December 2017 and for my wife I started the process in Feb 18 and timelines are pretty much similar except her documents are under review still.

I remember in my case, the university had sent just official marksheet copy signed and stamped where as in case of my wife the university prepared transcripts. Any idea dream_canada007 in your case was it the marksheet copy or transcript?

I read somewhere,on the forum may be, that if WES gets transcripts then they possibly ask for semster marksheet copies as well. If that's the case, i think it makes sense to send them copy of marksheets along if you can courier the document set by yourself.

question open to others as well on the forum...

Yes then I had to send the mark-sheet as well along with transcripts. Yes to be on safer side it's better to send the copy of marksheets ( attested ) along with your transcripts.

I was confused about this until one of my friends clarified this for me. The terms "marksheet" and "transcript" are the same, in principle, but India doesn't have the concept of "transcript" in official parlance.

In an ideal world, WES would only ask for copies for your degree marksheets and degree certificates and start their evaluation. But how do they know that the marks you're showing is not altered by you? So they ask the university to send the marksheets in a sealed copy to basically confirm to WES that "the contents inside the envelope have been sent directly from the university and the university takes the responsibility for the information unless the seal is broken". This is called a sealed transcript and it's no different from your marksheets. Some universities do not have a system to provide transcripts, so they simply Xerox the marksheets, sign and stamp them before putting it in a sealed envelope. This has been accepted by WES in many cases I've come across.

So I hope your doubt of sending marksheets along with transcripts is resolved. I personally only sent the transcript envelope plus copy of degree certificate and they were accepted by WES. Bottom line, you absolutely do not need to send your marksheets copies if you are sending your sealed transcript. WES considers your transcripts as "official, university verified" marksheets, so unless they specifically ask for it, you DO NOT need to send your marksheets.

"Not always True"
My wife's sealed transcript were not accepted, then i had to send attested marksheet as well..!! So it all depends on which type of college you are in. To be in safer side it's always better to send attested marksheets, degree certificate and transcripts.

In my case the college in question is NIT and South Gujarat University.

It's better to save the cost & time of sending your documents again in-case WES ask for it, better to send everything before-hand.

I mentioned "unless asked for".

I guess it depends upon universities again but it's WES who takes the call whether they need more or they are happy with the docs we give.

I gave EXACTLY what was asked, nothing more, and it was accepted, so I told from my own experience.

Hey i think you got offended, i didn't meant that way.....sorry if you felt that way.

Infact they didn't asked me to send the mark-sheets, I simply got that your docs were not accepted, So i simply sent transcripts + mark-sheets back again. So to be on safer side i don't think there is anything wrong in sending both of them all-together.

This was my experience + agony + waste of money + time of sending again and a long wait for getting the results.

Sorry from my side as well if I sounded rude, buddy. I appreciate that your post aimed to save others from a mental breakdown in having their docs not accepted. I'm sorry you had to go through a lot of trouble to get your docs accepted. Did you ask WES why they weren't accepted? Maybe this can throw some light on your specific situation. Most cases I know where the docs were rejected was because of the guy sent the docs from college rather than university, so yours could be a rare case.

There's nothing wrong in sending more documents, but for some guys, it raises more questions like where do I get these attested from, who can attest this etc. I was aiming to tell those guys to keep it straight and simple, but I guess there's no harm in sending more docs if it's not weighing your pocket.

It's ok buddy it was just "Heat of the moment" for both of us.

I called them multiple times, they kept on saying the same reason that was mentioned on my dashboard apart from that no additional information got.

WES requires that this document be sent directly by the academic institution in an official sealed envelope. Please resubmit your academic documents according to the document requirements specified for your country of education.

Next time when i sent the copies of transcript it was in the same state as the one i sent earlier + the attested mark-sheets. That got accepted. So the reason they were mentioning was not at all helpful. The University told that you also need to send the Mark-sheets along with transcript, so for guys who would be applying for WES would be helpful to ask their University guys of what's the general procedure that is being followed in sending docs to WES this can be helpful and time saver.

In my opinion it's best to spend few days in researching about how to send complete set of docs instead of suffering afterwards you send your docs to WES.

Yeah it did costs me around 300-400 more for the attested mark-sheets but just for heads-up your attested mark-sheets can be useful in Canada too so it's always better to have few copies lying around in-case you need it.

Is someone doing your WES now? My documents were delivered by DHL on 25th Feb but documents not marked as delivered yet. When I click on track package on WES it shows package received. FAQ says they have a 5 - 7 days business days overhead to just agree that they received your documents. They start evaluation only post that. Very slow and painful.

Anyone in the same boat?

Thanks for this. Are the profiles in the EE locked before the draw happens? Like you're not allowed to edit or update your profile 2-3 hours before the draw?
I am not sure buddy...I created profile almost 24 hrs prior to the draw and didn't touch it until 24 hrs after the draw.

Bassay,

Your timelines in signature is something to die for :D
Yeah I know. I have been really lucky in this aspect and thankful to WES for releasing the reports 2 days early. Of course, I could have easily gone through in March 7th draw with CRS 461, but it really didn't get on my nerves as everything was so quick. I was able to avoid anxious moments which many face during this wait. All the best to all guys in pool.

Precisely the thought in mind but now its' too late. But I guess it helps if we send WES attested copies of marksheet if your university is sending transcripts. This is something that one should think about before sending the documents rather than after thought.

For general audience; If you are looking to get your transcripts from Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) then move fast as they need about 25 days to prepare your transcripts. This is the most that I have seen a university ask for here in India.

Hamdard (3-4 days if u start on a monday), IIM's (Under 10 days) & Manipal (Karnataka) took less than 2 weeks

Your response is very well articulated Varunaimar...If you were in Delhi,NCR and feeling thirsty then drinks will be on me...

My wife's ECA has been a disaster so far. Documents sent to WES via DHL and were received by WES on 24th of January. Then on 26th they updated the status to "We received your document(s). We are reviewing your document(s)". Then they updated the same again on 29th, after that a long wait till 13th of February when the put us on hold requiring direct verification from the issuing institution. After that had to went through a hell of trouble with the institution who kept saying that they have replied to the WES verification email and WES kept saying they didnt receive any. This went on for two weeks after finally yesterday I went to the university and they allowed me to take a screenshot of their monitor confirming that they really did sent confirmation email to WES. I then called WES and also sent them the screenshot via facebook after which they updated my account status to this again....

Status: In progress
We received your document(s). We are reviewing your document(s).

Status last updated: 3/2/2018

This thing of going back and forth with verification is pure madness.
