CEC ITA - Proof of funds

Received an ITA, and was given a personal checklist. I am qualified under CEC. So I was under the impression that I would not be asked for bank information. However within my checklist I received this:

If you are applying for permanent residence in Canada, you must provide an official letter issued by your financial institution indicating your financial profile. This must:

- List of all your bank (chequing and savings) and investment accounts, the account numbers, dates each account was opened and the balance of each account over the past six months,
- List all outstanding debts, such as credit cards and loans,
- Be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution, and include your name and the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and email address).

The question is I have multiple accounts with multiple banks. The one where I have money saved for POF if ever needed is split between a Canadian account and an Indian account. I have another account with a separate bank that hold my student loan. Do I have to get show records of each bank account I have? Or is this request only wanting account information on banks that are associated with the funds I have for immigration? Am i being asked this information because I said I had $12000 available for immigration even tho I am CEC?

An experts opinion on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I was not expecting to have to show POF, and now if I have to, I dont know if I have to show loans that are in different banks.

Just upload a letter saying that you've been invited under CEC and thus, no POF are required.

1. If I were to do that, is there a format for the letter? Is there some kind of template you would suggest that I write it in?
2. Can CIC check which banks I have accounts with? Because I was going to give them proof of the funds that I have sitting in my accounts, I thought maybe it would help me in the grand scheme of things, having qualified under CEC and still having fund on hand. But I didn't want to show them the loan. Do you think that would be good?

The wording used is "financial institution" does that mean just the institution holding my funds that I have declared that I have? Or every insitution that i have accounts with? Im sorry if Im going in circles, I just dont want to mess it up.

1 - No format just write a formal letter stating what I said above. Another option is to change the minimum funds to "0" this way you won't even have a slot for proof of funds.

2 - No, CIC cannot access your financial information and whether you have funds or not is completely irrelevant as you've been invited under CEC.

3 - Only the bank in which you have the funds.

Hi
I am having the same problem. I didn't expect that I need to upload financial proof when applying under CEC, but in my account it is asking for it.

Does anyone know, if it has to be a Canadian bank (as I am applying from within Canada), or it can be a financial institute in my home country? Ca it be a saving account in my home country in a private financial institution?

and how much should the amount be in the account?

I need urgent help with this. Please advise if you have any information:)

The answers are above... you do not have to provide POF.

If it's CEC you don't have to upload anything except a letter which says "as I have been invited under CEC I do not need to show funds".

Thanks for the reply.
Are you aware of any reference (CIC website maybe?) for this information. I am afraid I do this and my application gets rejected:(

Literally you only need to google "proof of funds - CEC"

http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1145&top=29

"The system currently asks all applicants to provide a proof of funds document. If you don’t need to provide proof of funds, you must upload a letter explaining either that you have been invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class, or that you have a valid job offer."

CEC doesn’t mean you need an active work permit unless you are claiming job offer points. You can still apply under CEC if you have 1 year experience in Canada.

Hi All,

I understand that POF is not required under CEC, but my issue is a bit tricky.

I wasn't aware of the fact stated above and hence while applying for Express Entry, I had mentioned I would bring 20,000CAD (For me and my spouse). I received an ITA and now my Express Entry profile cannot be modified to make any changes.

Today I came across various threads that made me a bit sceptical as they stated:

1. If you had entered the amount in Express Entry, you need to show it in PR Application
2. If you do not have an LMIA, you need to show POF, whether it is FSW or CEC

So my questions are:

1. Do I need to show POF or not?
2. Can I show around 10000 CAD and write in LOE that I am still working in Canada only - or would I need to show all 20000?

Any guidance on these queries would be much appreciated.

Lol at the threads where you found the other pieces of information.
