One argument is that CIC will already have ECA Report No. & IELTS Report No. since you inputted them while creatinng the EE profile as well as during the final steps of ITA application. So CIC can verify the above by the Report numbers online & dont need any scanned copy.

But some say you can upload ECA + IELTS in the education section upload. (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/ready-reference-steps-to-follow-and-documents-to-arrange-post-ita.455826/)

So please wait for more replies from other members with more knowledge.

Also interested in this. Education section doesn't explicitly ask for ECA nor IELTS. So I was wondering if it was necessary to upload them.

I didn't claim any points for the education of my wife but did claim points for the IELTS. Therefore, I don't have any field to upload IELTS for my spouse.

I believe there is no need to upload them and they will be able to validate it through the reference number.

You don't need to upload ECA as CIC explicitly says that. For IELTS certificate I have not read CIC exclusively saying that, that you don't have to upload!

Application with ECA Scan is fine !
G Luck to all of you !

FROM CIC:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp
The original ECA report must:

  • be issued on or after the date CIC designated the organization,
  • not be more than five years old on the date that CIC gets a) your Express Entry profile, and b) your application for permanent residence, and
  • show your credential(s) is equal to a completed Canadian one.
Note: You will have to provide the reference number from the ECA report in your Express Entry profile, as well as in your application for permanent residence (along with proof of your foreign credential). If we cannot validate the number you enter, you will need to provide an electronic copy to confirm. Keep a copy in case we need to see it.

In my opinion,
As stated by IRCC, it's not required to upload ECA & IELTS.

However, as one of the posters here said, if any mistake had happened in typing the numbers or if IRCC wants to check the details, then they will ask the candidate to submit the docs. The candidate will then upload the same. This whole process will definitely take some time and unnecessarily would delay the whole process.

That's the reason why everyone suggests to submit both of them along with the application.

But, if anyone has forgotten to submit them, then I don't think it's a matter of worry. One should wait for IRCC's correspondence. It they ask for them, submit them. If they don't, then why to worry?

Is it required? No.
Should you upload it? I would say yes. Perhaps you mistype either of the numbers (ECA or IELTS), in that case, they could refer to your report.
I didnt upload the IELTS scan copy while submitting the PR application, received a request letter from CIC after 15 days from AOR to submit the scan copy of IELTS.

ECA uploaded with my education documents.

I too believe that these documents are not explicitly asked, but it is bit a strange

It's strange indeed. They should just make it mandatory to avoid confusion.

Friends:

The documents uploaded must be complete for the officers to review and take a quick decision.
IELTS+ECA+Bachelor+Master degree(If applicable) copies+the mark sheets in one PDF less than 4 MB is normally uploaded by applicants.

Off course the officer will check, review your by ECA Report No. & IELTS Report No IELTS ,

Mostly the delays in processing an application is due to improper uploading of documents.

Hi all,

For the ECA report, is it preferred to upload the downloaded version or the report we received by them, with the stamp?

Thanks
matt

I'll scan the physical copy of my ECA (the one with the WES stamp) to upload in my PR application.

Good luck.

It's ok if you don't upload the WES and IELTS. One has to provide the code/number of each while making the EE profile and CIC pull it off from them directly with help of those codes.

Still, if you want you can send it through CSE (Case specific inquiry).

Don't worry at all.

Hi,

We hadn't upload WES documents since we already had entered the WES reference number. But today we got a request letter from CIC that says:

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the review of your application, we require the following documents:

- Client Information: Receipt of information from client Please provide your original Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report. Please note that the ECA report must:

• be issued on or after the date CIC designated the organization,
• not be more than five years old on the date that CIC gets a) your Express Entry profile, and b) your application for permanent residence, and
• show your credential(s) is equal to a completed Canadian one.

- This must be received at this office by: 2018/01/25
