Is it a good sign when BG check goes into progress?.

Indeed it's the last stage before they take a final decision!

One more thing.. this is the status of my husband's BG:"Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check". It's somewhat confusing, does it mean they haven't started yet?. Thanks

Yes the BC of your husband hasn't been started yet. Also it says that they will message you once they do start. But basically you won't get any notification when they start the BC. The best way is to check your GCkey often if it changed or you can order GCMS notes to have an idea what's going on with the application.

Maybe the agencies responsible for conducting the BC are still working on it. I have no more patience left on me.

Sponsorship application turned from in process to DM even sponsor was approved already on 14 November 2016
But all Time was in process both SPR and PR , VO said pending BGC results this was 15 November via email .
My cic BGC is still in process and no documents needed, medical recived and passed in both .

So guys this is where I stand at the moment.
When they asked for the passport pictures they said we will inform you in due time I'm not not sure what that means. I hope it's going to be done by the time for Christmas.

How did you get them to extend your medical

If necessary the VO will do that automatically you can't ask for that.

My worry is if they just started our BC from scratch and they never touched it before for a year

Actually I asked them if they can extend it or I have to redo it.
A few days later I got an email saying they extended it for a year.
