I just want to know how does CIC look at aged applicants like above 40.Do aged applicats get lesser attention by the CIC even though they qualify on points table. Would it be adviseable to apply at the age of 45 having around 69 points in hand !! Also i have noticed that there has been very thin temdency of individuals above 40 applying these days. Most of the applicants on this forum that have applied or planning to apply are under 40. Please guide.

no worries hasni anybody below 50 can apply. everyone is given same treatment regardless of age. mike from newzealand on this forum is 41.

all the best..........

Hello, well it's my 40th birthday on Tuesday :(

Your age will make absolutely no difference other than contributing to your points total. So if you're above the requirement, you should be fine.

Good luck!

Hi

The CIC will not have any reservations until the age of 49. They are given highest marks.

What you should also think is how do the recruiters look on such age people. Of course age discrimination is completely
ruled out as per the Canadian law. But, in my personal capacity, I would like to ask you as to what are the chances of
getting employment. Do you have any inputs on this?

Cheers!

Applying at 45yrs is fine. You are still within max limit for age. Once you are 50yrs your points begin to fall under age category.

1. For CIC,age does not means much except for scoring points.
2. CIC like people who are above 40yrs old, cause these people have worked for almost 15- 20 years and have lots of savings which adds to Canada's GDP ( 19 %) on immigration.

Explorer is 100% right, Perfect answer

In this forum one of my friend member 'Naavy100' is 49-50 yrs of age, and successfully got Medical request in due course of time. He is an exmaple for everybody by proving that age doesn't matter at all if u score acceptable points.

Stay blessed

EXplorer101,

Very well said. I totally agree!

Didn't see this thread earlier...

Would it be adviseable to apply at the age of 45 - having around 69 points in hand !!

Rest assured that there r many applicants in your age bracket.
It's perfectly Ok to immigrate anytime - however, younger the better...

WHY?

'Coz, at a higher age bracket we r ought have been settled well - wherever we r - and post "landing", we'd have to start "all over again" - which might be a bit of a situation with most ppl.

Nonetheless, there r scores & scores of ppl who take that plunge at that age - and r doing well here as well. Remember, the Canadian PR is more about our "kids" rather than us... the system wants them, more than us here... so, your case'd progress usually - no adversities there due to a higher age.

RELAX & enjoy the ride!

It really depends on how many points you have and you'll definitely lose points as a result of your age - and typically it's more difficult to immigrate the older you are. You'll need to calculate your points under the Express Entry program. Have you done that already? If not, that's where you need to start.
