Helican CAIPSGCMS charges $60 for caips notes and interpretation. They said they will be sending seperate word file after sending caips file.Is it so ? Do they provide proper tips for SOP/Letter of explanation, is it worth/helpful ?
During my time, I was so frustrated and tried to contact so many lawyers. Their fees is minimum $350. How can we afford that?? Atleast I could not. May be some can. Also, most of them were not in India so it was all on emails and phone. So, this service of $60 definitely worked for me, especially after spending $150+$150 each time I applied for study permit and got rejected. All I can say is something is better than nothing. Dont expect them to be a $60 lawyer because thats not what they are. I had 7 quotes from different lawyers and believe me they are not GOD. If you have 10 backlogs and low scores, then they cannot do any magic and reverse it, even if you give them $500. Everything depends on our education background, finance, etc etc.

When I contacted CAIPSGCMS, they clearly told me that they will give me a letter of explaination and few tips for each rejection. Since, they dont know everything about my background, so I added few things in the letter myself. They also have free tips on their website. You can only get the basic report if you want and then write your own letter.

Is letter of explanation different from SOP? What do you include in Letter of Explanation
In SOP, you include everything regarding your education, background, experience, etc etc. The letter of explaination is more like giving clarifications on the points noted in the CAIPS report. The visa officer points out 3-4 things that he is not convinced of. Since, he had already read your SOP so you can make minor changes in there and then provide completed clarification in a separate letter. In the explaination letter that I had submitted, I included the following line and then I gave clarification for each point from my caips notes.

"I also ordered GCMS notes and have gone through the detailed rejection reason. I wish to offer following clarifications/explanation to the same with a request to kindly reconsider my application and grant me the study permit."

Cleared a big confusion , so we can add letter of explanation along with our sop in the application right.

yes, of course. The Visa officer will be boared readind the same SOP again and again:D. that is why letter of explaination is better for rejected applicants. First timers should only submit SOP and other docs.

Hi all. Finally got my pp today and as I thought, I was rejected on financial grounds (which is understandable). So I will defer my entry to the school and re-apply for visa when I have enough financial proof. Thanks for your advise so far....wish you all the very best. Cheers!!

hi got my refusal today. i submitted the application 2 weeks ago. reason was

In making a decision on an application, a number of factors are considered. These may include but are not

limited to:

• whether the person has been accepted to study at a Canadian educational institution;

• the information in the travel and identity documents;

• the person’s ability to pay for the trip, to pay tuition fees and to support himself or herself while in

Canada;

• whether the person is likely to respect the conditions of his or her admission to Canada;

• whether the person is inadmissible to Canada; and

• whether the person would be likely to leave Canada at the end of his/her authorized stay.

To help you understand my decision, the reason(s) are provided on the following pages.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your

situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.

The reason:
You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. In reaching this

decision, I considered several factors, including:

purpose of visit

what shall i do

This is the biggest problem of CIC that they dont give clear rejection reasons. They want us to order CAIPS separately to understand the exact reason. CAIPS is a good report but I wish they could just copy paste the same thing in the rejection letter. Purpose of visit actually means that the visa officer does not think you will come back after you complete your studies. Now, why he thinks like that is difficult to say. May be he didnt like your last degree you completed or may be he didnt like your marks or may be he didnt like the financial docs you attached. There is something specific that has made him feel that you will not come back. Unfortunately, he will only write that in his CAIPS note. So, buddy, if you have time and patience and curiosity, then get a CAIPS report. Just cost $16 but its worth ordering it. If not, then you can assume and write a new SOP and reapply but please dont write,"I am only going to Canada to study and will come to India because it is a growing economy blah blah blah". Everybody writes that.

By the way, when are you planning to reapply? Can you wait till end of Sept? then hurry to apply for CAIPS so you get the report before Sept 30th.
