@Kiran K :
Good to see that u r back!
Was waiting for your opinion..
Below are my timelines. Need your advice pls.

ITA 19 Apr
AOR 28 Jun
Med passed 19 July
BGC : NA (since ages ) PLUS PLS NOTE THAT : I HAVE NEVER SEEN MY BGC AS IN PROGRESS. So not sure about it being NA1 or NA2....
3 persons
FSW O
From India
Question 1: I am an ex defence officer from Army and have given all details of my service in my profile. Will my background of being an army officer hamper my chances of getting PR? As long as everything is genuine and you have nothing to hide it should be good, but yes CIC takes such cases more seriously then normal and does rigorous security checks which might delay files.
Question 2: I have been on med passed status and BFC : NA since 19 July. I know there are no fixed timelines and everything is case specific. But with your experience how much more time is expected for change in my statuses keeping in my background of being in Army ? Your file is going good so far R10 is done. Now processing times depends on Visa offices, if file is at ottawa then it will be fast, if at CIO then real slow. So I suggest you e-mail and find your Visa Office. Now for your case I think you will be selected most likely for extra security screening due to your army background, it might take even 6 months or more for such cases. i have seen people stuck in security for a year also, so i say be prepared. Don't want to disappoint you, CIC is highly unpredictable they might do it quicker, but its better to be practical.:)
Question3 : How may I know that it's NA1 or NA2? Is it always the case that medical passed means NA1 done ? Most people miss Ip1 as it lasts only for few hours in many cases, i missed mine. IMO you are in NA2 now. E-mail and ask for your Visa office and then you can get on yo know further details.
Not sure wheather I missed BGS IP 1 or not...
Any assistance is welcome !
Thank you, I am also glad to be back:)
I have answered your questions to the best of my knowledge in red above.

Now don't break my heart @KiranK. I know you very well :p

No luck for me since I went into IP2 on Aug 10th.
Hhahahahahhahahaha you know me dear, but I did not want to come off as an actual CIC insider to the said person so was clarifying:D:D
CIC is known to send PPR rains on Thursdays and Fridays, i say there is still hope in this week:D

Don't worry you will get it by next week at the maximum, just give 14-20 days post ip2:)
I know I'm being impatient but that's what the IP2 status does to people right?:p

But really hoping Waheguru blesses me with good news this week:)

OMG seriously! Are you CEC applicant or FSWO?
Such a huge mistake by CIC is strange..... Did you told them that your BGC was in progress as of your status?
Yes, I told him at the very beginning of my call.
I am FSWO
I feel like he is misguiding me!!
And how in God's name my R10 is not yet complete whilst my file is in Ottawa?

This is strange really, file is not shipped off to Ottawa till R10 is passed at CIO. This is some mistake for sure.
Do this now, e-mail Ottawa office to know your visa office again and also in the body of the e-mail include a line that reads something like,"please kindly tell me the processing stage of my application" after the visa office query line.
If your application is somehow already approved we might get some hint here, Send this e-mail and update with the reply here.

NOC Code......
2173
Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hhahahahahahhhaha my dear I would love to, but just for hope's sake. For real, no one can predict the PPR date, I doubt even if CIC can even:).
Okay as per your AOR you have been considerable time in NA, now i have a doubt that your file is at CIO in that case you are in for a longer wait. i suggest you email and ask for your Visa office to get more clarity on which stage is your application is in now as processing times varies for Visa offices. So PPR estimate will be based on that, Ottawa is very fast and CIO very slow. i suggest you find your Visa Office and then we can analyse, also order GCMS if file is at CIO still.
@KiranK,
I have already sent an email on 3rd August but havn't received any reply yet.
