Hi Everyone,
i have an question , can someone pls answer?
last month i sent family sponsorship application. 1 week ago they accepted my sponsorship and yesterday i received another email said, they forward my wifes application to Singapore and it will be processed there. (my wife from Vietnam)
Do you guys have any idea from now how long it would the processing time. We have baby so is it make the processing any faster?
And when i sent application i added police clearance for my wife , she got it from Vietnam. They told my wife its valid 1 year. would singapore office ask again same paper?
Lastly, is anyone if they do medical check in Hanoi?
Thanks very much:)

Sincerely, I would like to answer all your questions adequately, but in terms of waiting time for family reunification in Canada, there are too many variables and each case is taken individually. But here my two cents.

There are things where we have a possibility of action and the others where we simply can not do anything.

The first place where you can influence the time of treatment of your application is when you build it. Be honest with yourself and try to figure if you still have any red flag without adequate response and if all evidences summited will satisfy an immigration agent.

They don't work agains us but they need to get what they need to feel confident with applications summited to their attention. If they still have questions about your case, they will ask you more evidences, more documentation and put your wife on a queue for an interview. This will add a lot of time on your application treatment. If it lead to a refusal, you can be sure that your case will take many years with an appeal.

Second, remember that the reception of all document that we need to summit in Singapore take 30 days. It's not like if we send it by email and they open it in the same day. They give us 30 days to send them the documentation that they request and after they keep the right to take 30 days for reception. So it can take two months.

So, did you pay all the fees in the first instance or you will pay, for exemple, the right of permanent residence later ? If you wait at the end of the process, it will take more time cause you need to provided the recipe by email.

Providing some documents without they ask it doesn't help about the time of treatment. Medical check and police clearance is good for only one year... they will ask to update it. If they need to request an update when they are ready to proceed, you need to provide it and add time in the treatment.

Here are the things where we have a possibility of action and for the rest ... nothing we can do and we need to wait. It's take 12 months to proceed 80% of applications. Some take less time and other case take more time.

* the strongers cases that I have seen in this forum took around 6 months to proceed. And to have a kid will not help you to get an answer faster. The only thing that it does ... depending of your story and the evolution of your relationship , it will support the authenticity of your relationship or not.

Good luck

We sent our application (for my wife) to Mississauga in the beginning of May and then in July we moved to Canada (with her staying as a temporary visitor. I haven't updated our address yet but I got a mail from immigration yesterday saying that her application has been forwarded to Singapore for processing. I don't know if that's bad news or not. Perhaps if I had updated our address more quickly it wouldn't have been sent to Singapore. I wonder if i updated the address would it be sent back to Canada? Seems like more delays. :(

It's doesn't matter if she is in Canada for visiting. She can apply outland since she is in Canada. At the end of her temporary residence visa, she need to back to her country anyway.

My wife got interview letter today through mail & they sent just photos back which is really weird because they don't usually return photographs. Anyone received letter like this?
Please advise. Not sure what was lacking because we did provide everything to prove that relationship is genuine.

Page 917, Ojofar wrote something very similar as you. Her wife received a letter to inform her that their case is on the interview queue and they send all evidences and photos to her address cause maybe she would like to get it to bring it at the interview.

Good luck

I think it would be a great idea to order GCMS notes to understand what make your application weaker than you think at first sight.

They start to process your application 20 June 2017 and you received a letter that your wife is on the interview queue one month after ... this is something that look weird for me !

Hi guys, today I got mail from SVO and inside have 19 pictures and documents they don't need ( Funeral card of my father in law ).
Any idea how long SVO will send me request for my passport????
OMG only waiting..make me crazy

Does it's something new that they send back evidence and photos to applicants people's before the decision is made ?

They send us back our evidences and pictures last week. They advice us about it with the request to do for a second time the medical cause the first one will expire 23 august.

I ask about it cause My wife received all the evidences by mail without the letter saying that she need to do an interview. They also ask me to pay for the right of permanent residence.

I received GCMS notes today and it's says : "appear bona fide". I hope it's mean that interview it waived on our case.

So I guest that maybe now, in the new process, the applicants will received back evidence with a letter saying that they are in the queue for an interview and other where the interview is waived will received the evidences without this letter ???

If you didn't read it, I would like to recommend for you to read on the same page the messages wrote by ImABule.

This person isn't a newbie and really know what he talks about. Try to find the messages that he wrote in the past, I think it could be really helpfull for you.

Good luck

I read it, I am asking because last year before Dec 15,2016 when cic wanted an interview the letter used to mention the timeline like 24months something like that. So I am trying to find out of they still doing it or changed. 24 months was based on old application so new one should be 12months but not sure if they are mentioning the time as well or just sending letters. I know one person & for her it took 21mk ths to get call for interview but she was old applicant like around 2012. Hopefully everyone gets the call soon. Wish every1 best of luck

The only thing that I am sure about it is that when the interview is needed, it falls outside of the normal time to process. So if I understand what it's mean, it's possible that it will not be treated inside the 12 months usually take for processing 80% of the applications.

I wish the best and I hope that it's gonna be fast as possible.
