My hubby and I submitted my application in May of this year. So far they have asked me for police record, security form ( forgot the official name ) and medical. I did my medical on June 30 and within a week I saw that I passed it. My husband was emailed and they informed him that they are now sending my application to Jamaica. That was about 3 weeks ago. I've not heard a word yet. I'm going yo Canada to spend two weeks with hubby next week. My question is what is the next step after they inform hubby they sending my documents to Jamaica and how long does it takes. A friend told me they will now request my passport but I'm not sure. Plus I'm leaving the island for two weeks.

Once your file has been transferred to the visa office you won't hear anything, often for months on end. If you are an applicant using the new application package, the target is to complete 80 percent of applications in a 12 month timeline. Some applications will be processed faster than this, and you're probably best to check threads for your specific VO to see what they are averaging.

'months on end' this sounds like I have a few months to wait before I see any further progress. I will do the checks as noted.

Haha, sorry, I wasn't trying to be dramatic, I just mean it can be months and you won't hear anything :) for example, our file has been at the VO for 3 months and we haven't heard a peep! :)

3 months!!! I thought everything would wrap up in a month. Thanks for this information. The best thing is I have a friend that works at the Commission in Jamaica office so she has promised to update me once it gets there so at least I know they have not received it yet. I will keep you posted.

Yes, we're at London VO and they average 7-9 months...I wish one month! Haha

It shouldn't be 12 months as it's clearly an Outland application. It could take a few months yes before you hear anything but doesn't necessarily mean it will take 12 months as that pertains to inland applications

No, it doesn't.

They streamlined both outland and inland for 80 percent of cases to be done within 12 months.

As I said above, it could be faster, and it is reasonable to expect it would be, but the processing times are now stated the same with the new application.

Additionally just managing expectations as it is normal to not hear anything for at least a few months once you get VO transfer and it's not cause for any concern.

Oh I truly understand but I meant realistically, I haven't seen any Outlands taking that long

Sigh. I sure hope not! We're on month 5. Seems so much longer!!!

Best of luck! I'm currently on 15 months INland lol.

Check the timescales in the spreadsheet link in my signature line below. This is for London Visa Office. Six months beginning to end would be considered pretty fast. For a simple outland application 9 months would be considered normal, but 12 months is also possible.

Yes, I know...If you see what I posted above I noted that 7-9 months is average out of London. I'm not fussed, all one can do is expect 12 months and there's a high chance you won't be disappointed, especially if it comes through faster (fingers crossed)

Best of luck guys, I will keep you posted when I hear from them, hopefully sooner than later *fingers and toes crossed*

hat's pretty much it. I was all set in my head for maybe a March / April 2017 CoPR and was amazed that it came through just before Christmas 2016 - 6 months beginning to end!
