Hi Everyone!

I'm sorry for cross posting this but I need some advice please :/

My friend is a Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee with a PR application in process mailed Oct 2015 AOR Jan 2016.

Hi employer is planning on declaring bankruptcy within 1 month and his current work permit is a closed employer specific work permit. He is not eligible for a BOWP.

Is there anything he can do? IF his employer declares bankruptcy surely his PR application and Work Permit will both be void?

To make things worse, his girlfriend (a PR of Canada) is expecting their baby in 8 weeks.

If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate your help!
If his girlfriend is permanent resident then y don't he get married to that lady and apply pr... or he might b eligible to get spouse wp after they get married

in canada it doesn't matter if they are married or not. and we don t know if his girl friend is canadian, permanent resident or not neither.
So, the best thing to do is to call them and explain the urgency and the situation and see what you might do. maybe you will have only to update that or change category...or just wait.

Hi,
I was in the same situation. My employer had to give up his business and the new employers did not want any old staff. Ask your friend to look for another job (preferably in the same field) where the employer is willing to support with his/her paperwork. After they find an employer email PNP about this change and they will send a new nomination certificate within a few days and then just go

And then just go to the border and get a new work permit. Hope this helps!

Let me insert my 5 cents.

Probably you wanted to say that they were giving to last January and begining of February a while ago ( I suppose it was a batch of JAN-FEB applicants 2.5 months ago at least). Everything depends of immigration officer.

I am April 1 inland applicant. AINP, paper based Economic Clas

DM June 29
PPR July 5
PPR sent July 6
PP delivered July 10
PP printing room( on 20 it was already there)
Application approved pending
COPR pending

As you see guys it takes a time even after PPR.

Good to see this post. Congratulations! I think the issue with this forum is that most of us who post here are the ones who are waiting for the decision and since it is a long process, it gets frustrating. I am sure everyone will get it, sooner or later. I am March 15 applicant and waiting.

Still inland applicants from 2015 are waiting. Myself from Dec and I know many people from July-Dec 2015. Based on our experience our case is in in-depth security screening and it will take more than 2 years currently to get the final decision. If you applied in Jan, I don't think you will get the final decision this year. Sorry but this the fact!! we have tried petition, media, and MPs but seems that they are not useful.
It depends on where you are stuck. When the file is stuck at in-depth security in the name of CSIS, it indeed will take so much longer. There should be certain turn-around time to going back and forth IRCC and CSIS.

My case is criminality. I knew some people had criminality issue and it seems the delay is fairly consistent. I would expect myself to get DM around 18.5 month mark and CoPR around 19th month. But you never know, I might get a request for rehab...

Right. Paper process - PNP applicants are not asking their file complete with in 6 months. But they should have to at least complete with in 16 months for straight forward files. If Canada wants all Managers/ Skilled worker is that enough to run a business? They need low skilled level people too. why they don't understand that? should have to consider all PNP applicant Inland applicants process in same processing time instead of put people in 2 different boats. Our life is also in dramatic story. that's funny right media wants more dramatic story than this for all d candidates? Most of the countries has media has good impact on society. But unfortunately we couldn't see anything so far here..
I totally agree that Canada need both skilled and less skilled people.

It looks some provinces have a good insight, so that they adopt EE quickly and made a program for less skilled nominees. I hope all provinces adopt EE for all their program so that we can call the end of paper based PNP era...

PR processing is not first come first serve... and I know that most of applications have been processed in the expected time. What we're seeing is a quite small portion of the whole.

If you have a dramatic story, which you think it can touch people's mind, please contact your convenient media around you. You must have at least one or more local TV station in your province. Contact their newsroom and tell your story. The world never know until you speak out.

I'm working for the media industry, but unfortunately I don't have any such dramatic story, and I don't want to.
