The PCC is only $18. Personally, I would go ahead (since these things take soooo long anyway) and reapply for one if you haven't received an ITA in say 6 months. BTW, do you mind me asking what CRS score you have? If you're reasonably sure you can get an ITA soon, then better to get the PCC early.
I'm at 448. But honestly who knows what's gong on with scores right now. I've brought this up with my attorney a number of times and she's adamant we wait - which is frustrating.

Are the certificates valid for 6months?

Do they become valid for one year once submitted for ITA?

Thank you. I may just use the channeler after I receive ITA. However, my partner will have to still go the traditional route and send to FBI by mail.

QuestionL Where do you see that you can get the report within 1 week? Is it legitimately the same report that CIC requests with ITA? If so, why is it so quick vs. sending direct to FBI?

Thank you!
To find the answer to your question: Visit this link and see the section for 'if you are a US Citizen'. Also check out the list of approved channelers at the very bottom of the page.

Hey there jackbauer, thanks for your response.

To clarify, I'm a US Citizen living in the states, applying for PR in Canada from the US.

My attorney is nervous for me to send before ITA in case something happens and I'm not invited within the next year, or who-knows-what. However, I was wondering if it makes sense to at least go ahead and get my finger prints taken now and keep them with me -- then send immediately to FBI after receiving ITA. Would the finger prints still be valid if perhaps it took a month or two to send?

^ Doing so will allow me to not have to scramble to get finger prints the day of or day after ITA.

Also - Have you (OR ANYONE?) heard anything about the FBI police clearance process being incredibly shortened due to live-scan?

Thank you!
I don't know who is feeding you these misconceptions wrt the FBI PCC. You are an American, from what I understand. Thing is: you are privileged class wrt CIC ;) Please go ahead with your live scan from any of the FBI listed channelers and you will most certainly have the report within 3-5 days. Now your spouse is not so lucky. He/She has to start the FBI report soon so as to not delay your application submission.

Your report is valid for one year. Look at the latest rounds of ITA invites. It went as low as 415 sometime this year. So I think you getting an ITA should be the least of your worries. The sooner you get your other stuff taken care of (Like Employer letters, personal copies of letters etc), the better.

They have slowed down significantly. Maybe sometime soon the processing time would be 26 weeks (6 months) Did you call them to see what dates they are working on?
Wow... This week in the start they were processing april 24th. Haven't called them after that. I am hoping that by next week atleast they will open April 26th.

Just sent them email. Let see.

My application was delivered on 20th April. Today I requested the status of my application and I got their response that application has been processed and will mail out on 7th April. Although it says that allow 3 weeks mailing time in the US and 4 weeks outside the US, I believe it is an exaggeration, USPS first Class Mail should not take more than 5 bussiness days for delivery

How did you check the status? Have you called them? If so, can you please share the contact details?

I am assuming you meant 7th of July. 20th April package was processed 2 weeks back what there are doing with it till now!?

Yes USPS inside US may take 7-10 days at max. Generally with in 5 days it gets delivered.
