Never ever lie. It's too much of a risk. They have even revoked citizenship of people who have lied on their application. Even if you get through today, how will you like it if 7 years later, once you are settled in Canada with a good job, they revoke your citizenship when in some way they find out that you actually have a brother and you misrepresented in your application? Every year, thousands are stripped off their citizenship for lying in their application. A simple google and you will know! Remember, you are NOT a citizen by birth. You are a NATURALISED citizen when you get it through immigration. What they give, they can take away unlike citizenship by birth. They are allowed to take away your citizenship if they find out if you misrepresented in any way.

A lot of people believe that citizenship is citizenship. Doesn't matter if you are born there or naturalized. The new Bill C-6 even has a clause unlike the old rule where they say that ALL CITIZENS are equal and a Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian. As in, in the eyes of law, there is no difference between someone who is born there and someone naturalized there. However in my view, there is a clear difference in two cases at least.

1 - You can still be stripped off your citizenship if you are naturalized if they find out that you lied in your application. The new Bill has a clear appeal process but of course, if it's clearly proven you lied, then you are stripped off your citizenship and you have no option but to get back your old citizenship! Your kids of course most likely won't be be affected because they don't want the kids to suffer for the parents stupidity.

2 - Even if you get Canadian citizenship, your timelines for H1B/Green Card to the US depends on your place of birth and not your citizenship. This is a US law and nothing to do with Canada but i'm a putting it here anyway since it does make a difference to naturalized citizens. If someone born in India is a Canadian citizen, you still have to be in the Indian quota so there is no difference between you and the Indian citizen for H1B/Green Card quota. However a person BORN in Canada is in the Canadian quota which is like a million times faster with a very short waiting time. I think this is put in place so that many Indians don't get an easy ride to US greencard/H1B through the Canada loophole. Seems unfair but that's how it is.

Of course, we do benefit from NAFTA once we are Canadian citizens and get a TN work visa at the border if you fall into one of the NAFTA job codes.

So just saying, do not take your PR and citizenship for granted! What they give, they can easily take away!

I dont know which stage is this...probably in couple of days BCG will change from N.A to IP1..

Am worried for 1 thing my brother was banned in canada for misrepresentation...this happened in 2010. Therez a question i guess which asks abt any family member listed in ur app even been inadmissible i ticked no. Coz brother is nt listed in my app..i have to only consider my immediate family right??
Dude, What is the exact question from CIC? Any of your family member or family member submitted as dependant in the application?
I think you're fine if it's the latter case.

AOR April 8 (IP not mentioned) and April 24 (IP1)
April 24th seem like a normal R10 rejection based on the timeline.
The April 8th Rejection is scary since that clearly happened after R10 and during A11.2!

Is it necessary we have to find a job in Canada related to our NOC code? In the initial months after landing in Canada, I might need to do something to survive. Would that work be illegal?

Lets hear back from him. Ideally, this is what should have be done.

1 - The brother has to be mentioned in the application where they ask for sibling information.
2 - Put an LOE and tell them that sibling has had a misrepresentation thought he is not a dependent.
3 - Misrepresentation by a sibling is not an issue since that's a different person and has no connection with your case. But in these cases, it is always best to mention it so there is no issue later.
4 - Even when we do everything properly, there are so many cases where they make mistakes. In these cases, it is always best to make it super clear.

Perfectly fine. Once you are a PR, you have all the right to do anything a citizen can. Do what you want as long as its not anything illegal! You are a free man to live as you please!

FSW-O candidates, once they get a PR, they are free to work and do anything they want in any province and live as they please. Absolutely no restrictions. PNP candidates can do whatever work they want but they are limited to their province. Moving out of your province and working somewhere else without adequate proof that you truly lived there for a while will create problems at the time of citizenship grant. You are expected to live a minimum of 2 years in the province that nominated you. You cannot use PNP as a backdoor to enter Canada and then live anywhere else. Though the constitution gives PR right to live anywhere, that right is curtailed for PNP since there are clauses to the right to work anywhere and PNP is one of them. If the province reports you, it will affect your citizenship since you will have to deal with CIC again once you are ready to apply for citizenship. Your days with CIC are not over till you become a citizen!

I was told by @KiranK that Ottawa is faster than NDVO.

@jpv2212 . Your timeline in the signature will help us a lot!!!
Thanks. So, I should expect a little bit faster processing than others. Right?

Yes, definitely the timeline will help. That's why it's desirable to have it in the signature/profile. Others can estimate their processing times by seeing that.
In fact, I'd suggest all to have their timeline in their signature/profile, so that everyone could get help.
BTW, you would probably first who gets PPR before us, since you're April 1st. So, in that way, it's your timelines that would help us!:)

IP1 to NA could take anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks. Can never say. For me, it changed in 12 hours!
